20 August 2022: Ahmedabad: Union Minister of Commerce & Industries Shri Piyush Goyal launched a state university GTU’s startup body GIC incubated startup “Start of Stories” (SOS)
The Ministry of Industries has been actively working on the upliftment of the Startup Ecosystem since 2017 in Gujarat. And as per the latest Startup India States Awards, Gujarat has been named the winner as the Best performing State.
Since, the role of Gujarat in startup development has been noteworthy, one more feather in the hat was recently added when Union Minister of Commerce & Industries Shri Piyush Goyal launched a state university GTU’s startup body GIC incubated startup “Start of Stories” (SOS) on 20 August 2022 at Gujarat Technological University (GTU), Ahmedabad.
The Co-founders Shubham Kamlesh Surti & Dhairya Thakkar has been working to help the startups & Gig Workers with the problems of sitting spaces.
Their work of all this time has ripped the proof when Shri Piyush Goyal said, “Using restaurants/cafes for solving sitting place problem is the way of optimum utilization of resources”, after understanding the Ahmedabad-based Startup solving practical problems.
The Cofounder commented, “If every restaurant/cafe that is vacant from 10 am to 4 pm can be turned to coworking, it would be a win-win for both.
The restaurant/cafe will benefit by earning with no additional costs & the Gig workers/Startups would get the best infrastructures at no cost commitments”.
When asked about the plans, they said,” Gujarat needs to have some Unicorns by 2025. Either our startup would be a catalyst for that or would be one of them!”
