Interview with Piyush Gupta, CEO of VOSMOS, a tech startup specializing in Metaverse and virtual experiences
A graduate of Jadavpur University, Kolkata, Piyush Gupta holds an MBA in Marketing from ICFAI Business School, Bengaluru. He has more than 18 years work experience in IT.
Piyush began his career with Ceasefire Industries, and joined Kestone in 2005. When Career Launcher acquired Kestone in 2008, he became a part of the management committee which was also responsible to run the organization.
Piyush was instrumental in the rapid growth of Kestone, and successfully expanded the businesses overseas including in Singapore, Dubai, and the US.
In 2022, Piyush become CEO of VOSMOS, a part of Kestone and promoted by CL Educate, the parent company of Career Launcher.
What is VOSMOS? Specialization and services?
Piyush Gupta: VOSMOS is a tech startup specializing in Metaverse and virtual experiences. We empower companies to rethink reality and reimagine business with immersive solutions that are easy to use and scale.
Our offerings include Metaverse, customizable technology services, virtual events, and webinars. At VOSMOS, our goal is to make technology accessible to all and create meaningful experiences.
Our AI-enabled products can be customized to scale, brand, and geographies. Our virtual events arena and Metacommerce world offer unlimited attendee capacity, gamification, and transaction opportunities. We recently launched VOSMOS.
Events, a DIY or user-created virtual events platform that empowers individuals and organizations to create both small and large-scale virtual events that are dynamic and secure.
What inspired you to start VOSMOS, and how did you come up with the idea for a tech start-up focused on the Metaverse and virtual experiences?
Piyush Gupta: The pandemic inspired us to pivot and transform our sales and marketing experience into a virtual platform for businesses to ensure continuity.
Our team developed a customizable virtual event solution that allowed us to be the best in both on-ground and virtual spaces.
This led to our vision of creating a simplified and immersive virtual world, called VOSMOS, accessible to all, where occupants can learn, work, play, shop, socialize, entertain, and own digital assets.
Our Metacommerce world provides a single virtual ecosystem for brands to showcase their products, engage with customers, and transact business.
What do you think are the biggest challenges facing the Metaverse industry, and how is VOSMOS positioned to address these challenges?
Piyush Gupta: The Metaverse industry faces significant challenges, including creating a user-friendly and immersive platform, ensuring interoperability between different platforms, and building a scalable infrastructure that can handle a growing user base.
VOSMOS, with its experience in developing virtual platforms for events and expertise in AI-enabled products, digital avatars, VR experiences, and scaling solutions, is uniquely positioned to address these challenges.

One such project involves creating hospitality virtual tours, where we enabled users to explore hotels and resorts in a completely immersive manner.
We designed an entire futuristic city using intricate details and immersive simulations for an organization in the Middle East.
Another venture enabled potential customers to visualize and customize the interiors of their flats. In addition, we opened a coaching center within the Metaverse for an educational company.
This pioneering initiative transformed the way students and learners engage with educational content and interact with instructors.
By creating a virtual learning environment, we broke free from the limitations of physical space, enabling seamless collaboration, personalized instruction, and dynamic educational experiences.
Moreover, our work extended to establishing virtual stores for brands in the startup phase. Through these virtual storefronts, we harnessed the potential of the Metaverse to help emerging businesses reach and engage with their target audience in innovative ways.

However, we aim to expand beyond virtual events and create a virtual space for commerce, connections, and conversations.
We see this as the beginning of a new journey in business that will be more accessible and address global customers from the start.
Meta-commerce is a significant part of this journey and will allow brands to have expansive virtual real estate for their products, giving them the opportunity to market and sell in all geographies.
As we continue to develop our capabilities, we are also focused on narrowing the gap between physical and virtual experiences through digital avatars and the VR experience.
