Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the ‘PM Kisan Samman Sammelan 2022’ at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute in the national capital Delhi and released the 12th installment amount under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) through Direct Benefit Transfer.
According to the news, a total amount of Rs 16,000 crore has been transferred to the accounts of 12 crore farmers in the country in this event.
More than 13,500 farmers and about 1500 agricultural startups from across the country have gathered to witness the event.
PM has transferred the 12th installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi to the farmers’ account. PM has also inaugurated 600 PM Krishi Samridhi Kendras across the country. All the retail urea centers in the country are being developed as PM Krishi Samridhi Kendras.
2000 rupees coming under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi have reached the farmers’ account today and all the preparations for this were already completed.
Now PM Modi has completed the process of sending 2000 rupees to the farmers’ account in the Kisan Samman Sammelan. The Union Agriculture Ministry had given this information in a statement on Saturday.
What did the prime minister say?
PM Modi said on the occasion that more than Rs 2 lakh crore has been transferred into the accounts of farmers and this has helped them in managing the input cost.
He informed that the government is providing subsidies for essential fertilizers like urea and a subsidy of Rs 2.5 lakh crore has been given this year itself while emphasizing that the country needs to become self-reliant in agriculture.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the subsidy is being given as international urea prices and DAP are becoming costlier.
He said that the fertilizers would be rebranded as ‘Bharat’ and would help in reducing their prices as the transportation cost would be controlled.
Addressing a gathering of farmers and agricultural startups, the Prime Minister informed that measures are being taken to modernize agriculture and Kisan Samridhi Kendra will facilitate this process.

In May, PM Narendra Modi released the 11th installment of Kisan Samman Nidhi in Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh. A total of Rs 21,000 crore was released to the farmers of the country as this installment.
