The candidate should be a citizen or permanent resident of India and must not be more than 30 years old at the time of applying for Post office franchise; however, candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) can be more than 30 years old.

The candidate must have a minimum qualification of Class X pass from a recognized Board/University.

How to Apply for Post Office Franchise Scheme?

Applicants can apply for a franchise post office using either of these two methods – online or offline mode. The candidate can apply online or offline. For online applications, the applicant needs to register on the Department of Posts website (indiapost.gov.in).

After registration, the applicant will be provided with a User ID and Password. Using this, he/she can login in the online application portal where all the information regarding Post Office Franchise Scheme is available along with an option to apply for it.

Once your application is accepted, you will be required to sign a Franchise Agreement with PSF. This agreement will outline the terms and conditions of operating a Post Office under PSF.

You must also agree to abide by the guidelines and regulations set forth by PSF. After signing the Agreement, you will be given a Start-up Kit which will include all the materials and resources you need to start your Post Office business.

You will also receive training on how to operate your business from PSF officials.

Post Office Franchise Scheme Fee:

The application fee for Post Office franchise scheme is Rs. 5000 which can be paid by Demand Draft in favor of the “Assistant Director General, Department of Posts” payable at New Delhi.

There are no applications fees for SC/ST and Women applicants along with those who have already been selected under a Government Schemes.

Post Office Franchise Scheme Documents:

The following documents need to be attached with the application form for Post Office franchise scheme – Proof of identity, proof of age along with a recent passport size photograph.

In addition to this, applicants may also have to attach one photocopy each of their Educational and Caste certificates as per his/her category under the scheme.
