Can you share the journey of how Climb City came into being? What were some of the challenges you faced during the inception phase?

Pranav Jain: Climb city is a culmination of years of research and time spent in learning the craft outdoors . I think a major challenge is to find the right kind of place to set up a climbing facility. Everything else was figured out easily since I had invested in relationships within the community.

How does Climb City differentiate itself from other indoor climbing destinations in India?

Pranav Jain: Climb city is currently the only commercial climbing gym to have a full-fledged setup for bouldering and sport climbing. Besides that we have bought all our holds from Europe and a lot of these holds are used in world cups and elite level comps. We also boast a competition wall which no other facility has currently.

What kind of demographic does Climb City cater to, and how do you ensure an inclusive environment for all climbers?

Pranav Jain: Climbing is for anyone and everyone above 5 yrs old irrespective of class, color, sex or fitness level . A lot of our routes are setup in a way that it’s easy for first timers to get to the top.  

We also give a huge emphasis on giving good guidance in the starting since it can be very demotivating for a lot of people. Our idea is to make people have fun rather than make them feel this is a challenging experience.

Indoor climbing requires a balance of safety and adventure. How does Climb City prioritize safety measures while maintaining the thrill of the sport?

Pranav Jain: We have protocols that we follow to maintain of our safety devices, ropes and other equipment’s. There is a proper record maintained for it too.  Our facility is also built in a way that everything is visible from each corner. This allows us to minimize and prevent accidents before they can happen.

We also make sure our briefing to new people is thorough and none of our instructors leave climbers alone until and unless they are sure that they can manage their safety.

Could you shed some light on the technology or innovations incorporated into Climb City’s infrastructure to enhance the climbing experience?

Pranav Jain: We like to hold competitions and workshops so people can engage and have a learning experience at the same time. Besides that climbing for national level athletes is free at climb city and lot of them receive training from our coaches. Currently our facility is considered one of the best facilities to train for climbing in India.

Sustainability is becoming increasingly important in today’s world. How does Climb City integrate sustainable practices into its operations?

Pranav Jain: So besides climbing indoors we take people outdoors as well. Here people develop a sense of relationship with the nature. We are not tourists who enjoy the beauty from far away, we actually engage with it physically and keeping our forests clean and full of wildlife is something our community lives by.

What is your success tips for young and aspiring entrepreneurs

Pranav Jain: I believe learning your craft is the most important thing.  It’s best to not indulge in pursuits if you have no knowledge or passion.  Success and money always follow if one chases excellence and perfection. It’s a cliché to say it but if you aren’t failing you aren’t trying hard enough and this is something I have learned from climbing and I live by this motto.
