What inspired you to start Gusto Foods, and how did your journey in the food industry begin?

Priyal Thacker: My husband and his family are into the food processing business since a decade now, whitelabeling various food products for brands across India.

During lockdown covid everyone arose their inner chefs and cooking at home became a primary activity to do. This got me to the idea of creating the food brand gusto leveraging the manufacturing set up.

What challenges did you encounter while launching Gusto Foods, and how did you navigate those obstacles?

Priyal Thacker: The brand was during the end of covid , thus creating a team , streamlining the sales channel.

Can you share the core mission and values of Gusto Foods, and how they influence your product offerings?

Priyal Thacker: Our mission is to create high-quality, accessible food options that bring joy and health to every table and kitchen.

We are committed to sourcing ingredients responsibly, promoting high quality, and supporting local communities. Through our passion for food, we aim to bring flavours of the world to the Indian market.

How do you ensure that Gusto Foods maintains high quality and taste in its products?

Priyal Thacker: Our manufacturing set up is a state of art unit in Mumbai. We have a quality control team and highly laboratory for testing various ingredients and the products. The ingredients used are also sourced from highest quality vendors.

Can you describe your product development process? How do you decide which new products to introduce?

Priyal Thacker: Our product catalogue consists of inspiration from the west to our Indian kitchen which makes cooking easy and fun , like a lemon juice concentrate replacing fresh lemons, ready to cook gravies which makes making food at home super easy.

Our variety of specialised sauces as the best accompaniment and used in cooking helps one innovate with cooking and keeping up with the trends like the Truffle oil and truffle products. Thus we are trying to identify and build the gap between the essentials and trends.

How do you differentiate Gusto Foods from other brands in the competitive food market?

Priyal Thacker: Great quality and finest ingredients at a pocket friendly price , all in house manufactured by us.

What marketing strategies have been most effective for Gusto Foods in building brand awareness and customer loyalty?

Priyal Thacker: Sampling, pop ups where one can try products, showing various recipes made with Gusto products, tie up with various home chefs and micro influencers.
