An interview with Priyanshi Patel, Founder of Olixir Oils and Karma Foundation
In this inspiring interview, Priyanshi Patel, Founder of Olixir Oils and Karma Foundation, shares her vision of transforming lives through holistic wellness and social impact.
Olixir Oils, a natural wellness brand, combines healing power with sustainability, while Karma Foundation drives positive change in communities.
Priyanshi discusses how both ventures are helping people lead healthier lives while also giving back to society.
What inspired you to start Karma Foundation, and what specific challenges or issues did you aim to address through its initiatives?
Priyanshi Patel: The inspiration to start Karma Foundation in 2011 stemmed from my deep-rooted belief in giving back to the community and addressing social inequalities. Having observed the lack of access to quality education, mental health resources, and skill development opportunities, especially for women and underprivileged communities, I was driven to create a platform to bridge these gaps.
Karma Foundation was founded to empower women, educate children, and provide resources for holistic development. Initiatives like Saksham Kanya Yojana, which supports the education of underprivileged girls, and the biodegradable sanitary pad unit at Sabarmati Central Jail reflect our commitment to resolving pressing societal challenges such as gender inequality and environmental sustainability.
How do you balance leading both Olixir Oils and Karma Foundation? Have there been any synergies between the two ventures that enhance your ability to make an impact?
Priyanshi Patel: Balancing Olixir Oils and Karma Foundation requires clear priorities and a dedicated team. I’ve always believed in the philosophy of integration rather than separation. The synergy between the two ventures lies in the shared values of innovation, sustainability, and community empowerment.
For instance, Olixir Oils’ focus on health and wellness aligns with the foundation’s efforts to promote holistic well-being. Additionally, Karma Foundation’s biodegradable sanitary pad initiative emphasises environmental sustainability, a principle embedded in Olixir’s eco-friendly practices.
This interconnectedness allows me to apply entrepreneurial strategies to philanthropic initiatives and vice versa, ensuring both ventures complement and strengthen each other.
Could you share some success stories or memorable moments from the communities or individuals who have benefited from Karma Foundation’s work?
Priyanshi Patel: One of the most memorable moments for us at Karma Foundation was the launch of biodegradable sanitary pad unit at Sabarmati Central Jail. Witnessing the transformation among the female inmates was truly inspiring.
This initiative not only provided them with a sustainable source of income but also gave them a renewed sense of purpose and dignity. Another heartwarming success story comes from rural Gujarat, where we helped a group of women set up a beauty parlour.
We provided them with the necessary resources, conducted dedicated training sessions, and offered personalised mentorship. Today, these women are not only running the beauty parlour successfully but are also empowering other women in their village by teaching them the skills to become self-reliant.
What strategies do you use to engage and inspire others, especially youth, to contribute to Karma Foundation’s mission and community programs?
Priyanshi Patel: Engaging with youth begins with creating opportunities for them to connect with meaningful causes. We actively use social media and digital platforms to share real-life stories of change, encouraging young minds to participate.
At Karma Foundation, we offer internships, volunteer programs, and partnerships with educational institutions to bring youth closer to grassroots-level work.
By organising workshops and mentorship sessions, I aim to inspire them to become change agents. The key is to show them that their contributions, however small, can lead to significant societal impact.
As the founder of two impactful organisations, what has been your biggest source of inspiration or motivation to persevere and innovate in both spheres?
Priyanshi Patel: The biggest source of inspiration has always been the people whose lives we’ve touched—be it a customer benefiting from Olixir Oils’ health-centric products or a children gaining access to education through Karma Foundation.
Witnessing the tangible impact of our efforts motivates me to keep innovating and persevering. Moreover, my family’s entrepreneurial legacy and the support of a dedicated team fuel my determination to constantly evolve and expand our reach.
What advice would you give to young entrepreneurs, particularly women, who aspire not just to succeed in business but also to create meaningful social change?
Priyanshi Patel: To young entrepreneurs, especially women, I would say; embrace your unique vision and don’t hesitate to dream big. Success in business and creating social impact are not mutually exclusive; they can and should go hand in hand. Always prioritise authenticity, perseverance, and empathy in your journey.
Build a strong network, learn from mentors, and never shy away from seeking help. Most importantly, remember that every small step counts—whether in building a brand or making a difference in the community. Lead with purpose, and success will naturally follow.
Priyanshi Patel’s work with Olixir Oils and Karma Foundation showcases her commitment to holistic wellness and social responsibility.
Through innovation and compassion, she is not only empowering individuals to embrace natural health solutions but also creating lasting change in underserved communities. Her journey continues to inspire others to live with purpose, health, and generosity.
