Who is Radhika Aggarwal?
Radhika Aggrawal is an Internet entrepreneur and India’s first woman to enter the Unicorn Club. She is the co-founder of the online marketplace Shopclues.
It was established in 2011 in Silicon Valley. Now, she serves as the Chief Business Officer of the company.
Early Life and education:
She was born into an Army family. Her father was in the Indian Army and her mother was a dietician. In 1992, when his father decided to left the Army job and start his own health club, her entrepreneurial venture started.
She helped her father in his entrepreneurial journey as a fitness trainer, which is also how she secured her first pay cheque of Rs. 400.
She grew up in different cities, including Jodhpur, Ahmednagar, Pathankot, and attended as many different schools.
She completed her MBA from Washington University in St. Louis. She holds a post-graduation degree in advertising and public relations. She was also part of an executive program at Stanford University.
Entrepreneurial Journey of Radhika Aggarwal
She would have preferred to work in the advertising field with a reputed firm in Mumbai or Delhi. Finally, she started her own advertising agency in Chandigarh in 1997.
Two years later, she pulled down the shutters on the advertising agency. After her graduation, she worked in marketing for companies like Goldman Sachs and Nordstrom in Seattle.
During her college days, Radhika ran a personal fashion blog targeted at South Asian women. She holds around 14 years’ experience in the US in diverse sectors such as e-commerce, fashion, retail, and lifestyle.

Prior to co-founding ShopClues, She was the founder of Fashion Clues, a fashion, and lifestyle website.
In 2012, Radhika started the online marketplace and e-commerce venture ShopClues with her husband Sandeep and Sanjay Sethi with a 10-man team.
Sandeep Aggarwal worked as an associate degree analyst. Sanjay Sethi was with eBay, quit their jobs to start out online marketplace ShopClues.
They did a great deal of R&D and came up with a business set up. She always credits Sandeep Aggarwal for encouraging her to take the entrepreneurial plunge.
Success stories of Indian Women Entrepreneurs
Radhika Aggarwal is always looking for opportunities that will benefit her online marketplace. Unlike India’s other unicorns, her online platform has not seen a drop in its valuation.
Radhika Aggarwal dared to challenge the online giant Amazon and set up ShopClues, a billion-dollar company.
ShopClues has about 600,000 merchants, 30 million registered buyers, and ships about four million products a month.

In 2016, she got, Outlook Business Woman of the World at Outlook Business Awards, Woman Entrepreneur of the year at Entrepreneur India Awards, Exemplary Woman Entrepreneur of the year at CMO Asia Awards and CEO of the award at CEO India Awards.
