An interview with Raghav Himatsingka, Co-founder of Raising Superstars, a Mumbai-based parenting company
Today, we’re thrilled to speak with Mr. Raghav Himatsingka, Co-founder of Raising Superstars, an innovative Mumbai-based company dedicated to unlocking the inherent genius in children aged 0-6.
With a mission to foster development through engaging, non-screen-based activities, Raising Superstars offers a refreshing approach to early childhood growth, ensuring that children thrive in a nurturing, pressure-free environment.
Can you tell us about the inspiration behind founding Raising Superstars and what your vision is for the company?
Raghav Himatsingka: Well, it all happened at a time when I was deeply concerned about my child’s well-being, his education, and his future amidst the pandemic lockdown. Post my further studies at Georgia Tech University and Stanford University, I joined my family business and later founded my own travel & logistics company, Truckola in India.
But when Covid hit, it negatively impacted the transport and logistics industry and I had to unfortunately shut down the company. Consequently, I left my home, my office and moved back to Calcutta with my parents.
People were asking what am I going to do next? Around the same time, I had become a father. With all of these things at the top of my mind, I just started this as a small business to sustain my family and myself.
There was no well-crafted strategy or analyzing the target market or market size etc. Everything just happened very organically because when we started, we had a lot of efficacy with great outcomes and results.
People started asking that we also want to do what you’re doing; Can you also share it with us? That’s how we started sharing and it became much bigger than we had originally anticipated.
Our mission at Raising Superstars is to empower young minds and unlock their inherent talents, setting them on a path to lifelong success. Our vision is to unveil the innate potential within every child.
Through a holistic curriculum that addresses cognitive, physical, and emotional development, we are paving the way for future leaders and innovators.
How does Raising Superstars differentiate itself in the market of early childhood development, especially without relying on screen time or putting pressure on babies?
Raghav Himatsingka: Our company is a category creator and category leader. There’s no such company in the world at our scale doing what we are doing. There are a lot of physical spaces but nothing in the online world.
The Prodigy FrameworkTM, and the Prodigy Baby System – the world’s first such home-based framework for babies, toddlers, and kids of 0-6 years to develop their incredible potential without any harmful screen time or pressure on the baby.
Our unique system of learning is packed with engaging exercises and activities designed to bring out a baby’s true potential.
It works with a system of five-minute simple exercises designed to awaken a baby’s potential. There is none of the usual pressures of homework, worksheets and screen time.
All exercises have to be done in the prescribed manner and are targeted at developing skills such as an eidetic memory, strong math and oratory skills, speed reading, sports prowess, encyclopedic knowledge, creativity, logical thinking, and more.
Could you elaborate on the methods or techniques Raising Superstars employs to awaken the unconscious genius of babies and toddlers?
Raghav Himatsingka: This one-of-a-kind system utilizes the infinite genius abilities of babies at birth and uses a system of just 5-easy minutes of activities and exercises for the baby which can be conveniently carried out at home by the parent or guardian, to develop prodigious, miraculous abilities that stay with the child throughout their lives.
These abilities include incredible sports prowess, speed reading, photographic memory, prolific oratory, genius mental math abilities, creative thinking, pitch perfect music skills, positive personality traits, foundations of logic, and several other such life skills.
What are some of the challenges you’ve faced in promoting a screen-free and pressure-free approach to early childhood development, and how have you overcome them?
Raghav Himatsingka: Promoting a screen-free and pressure-free approach to early childhood development has had its challenges. Firstly, parental skepticism is common, but we overcome this by sharing evidence-based research and success stories.
Cultural norms often prioritize early academic achievement, so we emphasize the long-term benefits of play and natural learning. Balancing work and parenting is a challenge for many, so we offer practical tips and activities for integrating screen-free activities into busy routines.
Finally, building a supportive community is essential; we foster this through social media, workshops, and events, encouraging parents to share and support one another.
In what ways do you ensure that the methods used by Raising Superstars are safe and beneficial for the holistic development of children aged 0-6 years?
Raghav Himatsingka: Raising Superstars is a leading provider of early childhood education, dedicated to nurturing the next generation of exceptional individuals through its groundbreaking Prodigy Framework™. By prioritising holistic brain development and character-building, We equip children with the skills and abilities needed to excel in today’s dynamic world.
The organization offers a range of tools and support for parents and caregivers to help them provide the best start for their children. Our mission is to empower parents with the knowledge and resources they need to nurture their children’s development from the earliest stages.
We believe that with the right support, every child can achieve remarkable growth and success. Raising Superstars is dedicated to promoting early childhood development through innovative programs and resources. We have 500K+ parents doing our program from 150+ countries.
What role do parents or caregivers play in the programs offered by Raising Superstars, and how do you support them in nurturing their child’s potential?
Raghav Himatsingka: The way it works is basically, we give video instructions to parents on what activities they should do with their child. It’s pre-recorded short videos of 5 minutes because parents are busy people and we’ve designed our programs for their convenience.
You watch the video, and you know what you have to do, and it takes less than 5 minutes in a day to do it with your child. It’s very easy and convenient and we make their activity plans, weekly plans, daily plans depending on how much you want to do and then parents just come on the app and tell us that we did this and this what’s next and it just keeps building up and you can see your progress as well.
So, it’s not like a class or anything. There’s no screen time for the child because we think that screen time is super evil for the babies. App is only for the parents.
As co-founder, what are your future goals and aspirations for Raising Superstars in terms of growth and impact?
Raghav Himatsingka: The company aims to rapidly expand its portfolio of products, tap into new markets, and cater to 1 million babies worldwide in the coming years, to unlock their true potential and raise the superstars of tomorrow.
As co-founder of Raising Superstars, my goals are to expand our global reach, develop comprehensive child development resources, and partner with experts, schools, and pediatricians.
Additionally, we plan to launch an educational toy line that promotes screen-free, pressure-free learning. By advocating for supportive public policies and conducting research to measure our impact, we strive to create a global movement that fosters holistic, happy, and resilient childhoods.
What advice would you give to parents who are interested in enhancing their child’s potential without relying on traditional methods like screen time or academic pressure?
Raghav Himatsingka: My advice to parents is to focus on creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that encourages natural curiosity and creativity. Engage your child in open-ended play, which fosters problem-solving skills and imagination.
Incorporate activities that promote physical movement, such as outdoor play and hands-on projects, to support their physical and cognitive development. Prioritize quality time together, sharing stories, exploring nature, and engaging in conversations that help build their language and social skills.
Encourage your child’s interests and passions, providing opportunities for them to explore and learn at their own pace. Finally, remember to model the behavior you want to see; show enthusiasm for learning and curiosity about the world around you.
By providing a supportive and pressure-free environment, you can help your child reach their full potential in a healthy and balanced way.
Mr. Raghav Himatsingka’s insights into Raising Superstars reveal a transformative approach to early childhood development. By prioritizing natural, interactive learning experiences over screen time, the company is setting a new standard for nurturing young minds.
His dedication to creating a supportive environment for children to explore their potential promises a brighter, more imaginative future for the next generation.
