An Exclusive Interview with Rahul Dwivedi, Founder & CEO of Pelorus Technologies, a leading national security and defense intelligence company
Rahul Dwivedi, Founder and CEO of Pelorus Technologies, shares insights on advancing national security through cutting-edge defense intelligence. Under his leadership, Pelorus is redefining the future of security with innovative technology solutions.
What inspired you to found Pelorus Technologies, and what gap in the national security and defense intelligence ecosystem were you aiming to fill?
Rahul Dwivedi: Pelorus Technologies was founded in the aftermath of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, which exposed critical gaps in India’s security and intelligence systems. At the time, the solutions available were not fully suited to the complex challenges faced by our agencies.
This motivated me to establish a company that could bridge those gaps by providing advanced, practical and reliable solutions tailored to the operational realities in India.
From the start, our mission has been to strengthen the capabilities of defence and intelligence agencies and to support the country’s long-term vision of self-reliance in this sector.
Pelorus is recognized for its innovation in defense intelligence. What are some of the breakthrough solutions or technologies the company has developed?
Rahul Dwivedi: Our focus has always been on addressing the critical capability gaps faced by security and intelligence agencies. We have introduced solutions that support digital investigations, voice and communication analysis and the tracking of financial crime.
For example, Qubitor Speakint enables agencies to analyse and interpret voice communications across multiple languages and dialects, while Cryptoscan is designed to help trace illicit transactions in cryptocurrency.
These solutions reflect our commitment to equipping agencies with the right tools to stay ahead of rapidly evolving threats.
In defense and intelligence, innovation and security go hand in hand. How does Pelorus ensure that its solutions remain both cutting-edge and operationally reliable for agencies?
Rahul Dwivedi: Our approach is to make sure that every solution we provide is grounded in real operational needs. We work closely with defense and law enforcement agencies to understand their challenges and adapt technologies so they are not only advanced but also practical, resilient and fit for use in demanding environments.
By focusing on what works in the field, we ensure our solutions deliver reliability, security and meaningful impact where it matters most.
Can you share an example where Pelorus’ technology directly impacted a critical security operation or outcome (while keeping sensitive details confidential)?
Rahul Dwivedi: I cannot share specific operational details but I can say that our solutions have been instrumental in supporting investigations into areas such as cybercrime, financial fraud and digital evidence analysis.
The impact is seen in how they help agencies on a daily basis, whether by uncovering hidden communication patterns, tracing suspicious financial activity or streamlining forensic analysis.
For me, the greatest satisfaction is knowing that our solutions strengthen the ability of authorities to respond quickly and effectively, ultimately helping safeguard people and critical infrastructure.
How do you see the future of defense intelligence evolving with AI, big data, and quantum technology?
Rahul Dwivedi: I believe defense intelligence is entering a new era. AI will make it possible to process vast amounts of information and identify patterns that may otherwise be missed. Big data will provide the context needed for faster and more accurate decision-making.
Quantum technology has the potential to transform secure communications and encryption, adding new levels of resilience.
At Pelorus, we are closely aligned with these developments to ensure that the solutions we provide are relevant today and prepared for the challenges of tomorrow.
If you were to give advice to young technologists or entrepreneurs who want to work at the intersection of defense and technology, what would it be?
Rahul Dwivedi: My advice would be to pursue innovation with both ambition and responsibility. This field requires patience, discipline and a clear sense of purpose, as the challenges are complex and the outcomes can shape how agencies operate.
For those who are passionate about technology and committed to solving real-world problems, it offers the chance to create lasting impact.
In this interview, Dwivedi highlights the company’s mission, challenges, and vision for strengthening defense intelligence in an evolving global landscape.
