An Exclusive Interview with Rahul Kamra, Keto Coach and Founder of Ketorets
Rahul Kamra, esteemed Keto Coach and founder of Ketorets, has transformed the approach to ketogenic living in India.
In this exclusive interview, he shares insights on building a thriving keto community, tailoring diets for diverse needs, and debunking common myths.
What motivated you to become a keto coach and start Ketorets?
Rahul Kamra: My journey began on 27th November 2017, when I was 117 kilos and battling constant fatigue, hormonal imbalances, and the cycle of failed diets. Keto changed everything for me — within months, my energy, focus, and overall health transformed.
On 9th January 2019, my best friend suggested, “You’ve been on keto for so long, why not share your secrets?” That conversation became the starting point of Ketorets.
In the early days, it was just friends, family, and family friends seeking my guidance. Over time, it evolved into a structured method built on continuous learning, adapting to trends, and making keto both scientifically sound and culturally adaptable.
How do you personalize ketogenic diets for clients with different health goals and lifestyles?
Rahul Kamra: We go beyond just weight and medical reports. We assess sleep patterns, work schedules, cultural food habits, and emotional triggers. For example, a night-shift chef will have a very different plan from a homemaker with PCOS.
The Ketorets Method integrates Intermittent Fat Fasting, Circadian Rhythm Hacking, and Progressive Nutrition Profiling — ensuring that the diet adapts to the person, not the other way around.
What common misconceptions about the keto diet do you encounter, and how do you address them?
Rahul Kamra: The most common myth is that “keto damages kidneys.” When done with proper guidance, hydration, and balanced protein intake, this is simply not true.
Another misconception is that keto is all about cheese and bacon. In reality, a well-structured keto plan includes clean protein sources, quality fats, low-glycemic vegetables, and a strong focus on micronutrients. It’s about nourishment, not just restriction.
How does Ketorets blend traditional keto principles with Indian dietary preferences?
Rahul Kamra: I come from a hotel management and culinary background, so Indianizing keto comes naturally to me. I’ve designed restaurant menus and applied the same creativity to keto plans.
We adapt recipes like Koli Saru Paneer Curry, Koli Saru Chicken Curry, and Mughlai-style gravies — all low-carb, high-flavor, and compliant with ketogenic principles. The metabolic intent remains intact, but the flavors feel like home.
How do you support clients in maintaining long-term adherence to the keto lifestyle?
Rahul Kamra: Daily accountability is at the heart of Ketorets. Every member checks in daily — weekdays, weekends, without exception. Weekly micro-adjustments keep the plan relevant, while daily recipes and tips keep meals interesting.
We also focus on skill-building — teaching how to travel without breaking ketosis, how to re-enter ketosis smoothly after carb days, and how to enjoy occasional indulgences without losing long-term progress.
What challenges do people face when transitioning to keto, and how do you help overcome them?
Rahul Kamra: The top challenges are initial carb withdrawal (keto flu), fear of fats, and social pressure. We address these through proper electrolyte balance, myth-busting education, and providing flexible food options that fit into family meals or social gatherings.
Once clients feel the energy shift and mental clarity that comes with adaptation, these hurdles usually disappear.
What future trends or innovations do you see emerging in the ketogenic wellness space?
Rahul Kamra: The next phase will go beyond just tracking macros. I see a rise in glucose and ketone monitoring, gut microbiome mapping, and advancing gastric cognizance — understanding how the body responds to food beyond calories and carbs.
However, the most powerful shift will be psychological. Diet plans will increasingly focus on emotional stability, decision-making, and overall life quality, not just fat loss. The Ketorets Method is already moving in that direction, combining data-driven insights with mindset coaching.
Kamra’s vision continues to inspire healthy, sustainable change, empowering countless individuals to achieve their personal wellness goals through keto.
