An interview with Ms. Rajeshwari BC, Principal at Embassy Academy

In this insightful interview, Ms. Rajeshwari BC, Principal of Embassy Academy, shares her vision for education, innovative teaching methods, and the importance of fostering a supportive learning environment.

Her dedication to student success and leadership in the academic community shines through her inspiring words.

What is your educational philosophy, and how does it guide your leadership as Principal of Embassy Academy?

Rajeshwari BC: I believe in nurturing each student as a well-rounded individual, fostering curiosity, creativity, and resilience. At Embassy, we lead by ensuring that every student feels valued and empowered to learn in their own unique way.

We prioritise collaboration among teachers, students, and families to build a strong sense of community. By embracing innovation and continuous improvement, we prepare students not only for academic success but also for the challenges and opportunities they will encounter in real-life situations.services

Can you discuss any innovative teaching practices or programs you have introduced at Embassy Academy?

Rajeshwari BC: We have prioritised hands-on, project-based, experiential learning experiences for students across all subjects. We focus on sports-integrated learning for Mathematics and art-integrated learning for Social Studies.

To support experiential learning, we have introduced:

A Smart Curriculum for preschool, enabled with AR (Augmented Reality) features.

A Thematic Curriculum for primary grades, with VR (Virtual Reality) integrated across subjects.

Facilities that support experiential learning, including a Makerspace STEM lab, Smart Science Lab with IoT, Design Thinking classes, Mathematics Lab, Computer Lab, Montessori Activity Lab, Creative Art & Performing Art Studios, and vast outdoor areas supporting over 15 physical activities.

Our focus is on creating a supportive, inclusive, student-centred environment that nurtures the individual potential of every learner at Embassy Academy.

How do you encourage parental involvement in the school community, and why do you believe it is important?

Rajeshwari BC: Parental involvement plays a crucial role in enhancing student learning, strengthening school culture, and building a strong sense of belonging for families.

We maintain smart and consistent communication with parents through the Parent Portal, LMS, emails, WhatsApp, monthly newsletters, circulars, multiple PTMs, and open house sessions. We also have a quick-response system for addressing parent queries.

We’ve introduced an Open Door Policy, allowing registered parents to experience a day in their child’s classroom. Additionally, we host multiple parent engagement programs and parenting sessions led by eminent doctors and experts.

We believe that ongoing parental involvement transforms passive observers into active partners in a child’s growth.

How do you ensure that the learning environment at Embassy Academy is student-centered and responsive to individual needs?

Rajeshwari BC: We truly believe that every child is unique. We strive to create a learning environment where children feel valued, supported, and encouraged to learn in their own way.

Through experiential learning and real-life experiences, we make learning more meaningful and enjoyable. Our teachers provide individual attention to each child, offering the right guidance and care at every stage. Remedial classes are offered to children who need additional support, ensuring no child is left behind.

What are some of the biggest challenges you have faced as a principal, and how have you addressed them?

Rajeshwari BC: One of the biggest challenges is ensuring that every child receives individual attention to support their unique learning needs. No two children are the same. Managing diverse parental expectations can also be complex.

To address these, we hold regular meetings with both teachers and parents to align our efforts. We also support our teachers through ongoing training, helping them become more approachable, child-friendly, and solution-focused.

Together, we work as a team to create a happy, caring, and safe environment, ensuring that every child receives the attention and support they deserve.

Ms. Rajeshwari BC’s commitment to excellence and her forward-thinking approach highlight the transformative power of education.

As she continues to lead Embassy Academy, her insights serve as a guiding light for educators and students alike, shaping a brighter future for the next generation.
