Raju is also known as Gajodhar. He is an Indian politician, actor & comedian. He is an Indian comedian, and more popularly, an observational comedian.
He is known most for his acute perusal and comical timing about various Indian aspects of life. With the talent show
The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, he entered into stand-up comedy. In that show, he finished as second runner-up. Subsequently, he took part in the spin-off, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge- Champions. In that he, won the title of “The King of Comedy”.
Raju Srivastava also participated in Bigg Boss (Hindi) season 3. Bigg Boss is the Indian counterpart of the Big Brother (franchise).
On 4th December 2009, he was voted out from the house of Bigg Boss, after staying in the house for more than two months. Later, he participated in the comedy show named Comedy Ka Maha Muqabala.
Early & personal life of Raju Srivastava:
Raju Srivastav was born as Satyaprakash Srivastava. He was born on 25 December 1963, in Kanpur, India in a middle class Kayastha family.
His father is a very famous poet named Mr. Rameshchandra Srivastava known as Balai Kaka. As a good mimic, Raju nursed the dream of becoming a comedian since childhood. During his school time he used to imitate his teachers.
Raju Srivastava married Shikha on 1 July 1993. The couple have two children named Antara and Ayushman.
His daughter, Antra Srivastava got National Bravery Award from the prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
Career of Raju Srivastava:
He gained his initial stardom as an Amitabh Bachchan look-alike and also imitated him very well. He landed in Mumbai, and after a few years he did a blink-and-you-miss role in the superhit Rajshri movie Maine Pyar Kiya.
Raju Srivastava did many other small roles in varied number of movies, mostly an inconspicuous comic role. He was a participant on Bigg Boss (Season 3), anchored by Amitabh Bachchan.
He debuted in Bollywood movies with Maine Pyar Kiya. Later he acted in Baazigar & Bombay to Goa.

In Aamdani Atthanni Kharcha Rupaiya, he worked as an actor & comedian. He along with his wife Shikha participated in Nach Baliye season 6, a couple dance show on StarPlus.
He also appeared on comedy Nights with Kapil. He also appeared in the show Mazaak Mazaak Main. The Indian Mazaak League, it was a stand-up comedy show aired on Life OK.
Well-known cricketers Harbhajan Singh and Shoaib Akhtar were the judges of the show. He is a talented artist with a flair for comedy.
Raju Srivastava also did stage shows with Kalyanji Anandji, Bappi Lahiri and Nitin Mukesh in India and abroad. He was also noticed by Johnny Lever when he did stage shows before joining the film industry.
His mimicry was liked and applauded by the masses and he was an important person in Johnny Lever’s troupe.
The great Indian Comedy Show was his big break. Although, he could not win the competition, he received the first runner-up title.
After his performance in The Great Indian Laughter Challenge – Champions, where he was unofficially given the coveted title “The King of Comedy”.
Political career of Raju Srivastava:
In 2014 Lok Sabha election, The Samajwadi Party fielded Raju from Kanpur. On 11th March 2014, he returned the ticket, as he thought he was not getting enough support from the local unit of the party.
Later on 19th March 2014, he joined Bhartiya Janata Party. PM Narendra Modi nominated him to be the part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

Since then he is promoting cleanliness through his events in different cities. He also made various music videos for promoting cleanliness. He has also shot various TV commercials and social service message video for Swacha Bharat Abhiyaan.
On 10th August 2022, he suffered a heart attack during his work out in gym. He got an angioplasty & put on ventilator.
Controversy:
In 2010, Raju Srivastava received threatening calls from Pakistan warning him not to crack jokes on underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and Pakistan in his shows.
Death of Raju Shrivastava:
On 10th August while running on the treadmill in the gym, he suffered a cardiac arrest. He was put on ventilator after an angioplasty.

During the treatment the doctors observed swelling in his brain, so he was treated by neurologists also. Still after the cardiac arrest, his condition was critical. He died on 21st September 2022, during his treatment.
