An interview with Riddhi Chhabria, founder of Rixero- Design on Demand Platform
In this insightful interview, we speak with Riddhi Chhabria, the dynamic founder of Rixero, a cutting-edge design-on-demand platform.
Riddhi shares her entrepreneurial journey, the inspiration behind Rixero, and how the platform is revolutionizing the design industry by providing custom, high-quality solutions to businesses and individuals alike.
Riddhi, thank you for joining us today! Can you start by sharing the inspiration behind Rixero?
Riddhi Chhabria: The inspiration behind Rixero resulted from the challenges faced by two key groups: small companies and freelance designers. Many small businesses lack the budget to hire full-scale marketing agencies.
Simultaneously, designers are losing opportunities due to the rapid rise of AI-driven design tools. While they are quite effective, they lack the personal touch and creativity that human professionals bring.
Rixero bridges this gap by providing affordable, high-quality creative solutions tailored for small businesses and freelance designers.
Rixero offers a design-on-demand service, but there are many players in the market, from traditional design agencies to AI-powered platforms. What do you believe differentiates Rixero from these competitors, and how does your platform offer something more unique?
Riddhi Chhabria: Rixero stands out by combining speed, affordability, and human creativity to deliver exceptional value. While AI design tools are efficient, things are often lost in translation as they fail to grasp your brand’s vision.
At Rixero, a dedicated human designer brings thoughtful, personalized insights to each project. Unlike competitors, we guarantee high-quality graphics delivered within 24 hours, making it ideal for businesses with tight deadlines.
Additionally, our affordable pricing of ₹500/$5/€5/£5 makes professional design accessible to small businesses as well.
Starting a platform like Rixero in a competitive digital environment can be challenging. What have been some of the biggest obstacles you’ve faced in getting Rixero off the ground, and how have you navigated them?
Riddhi Chhabria: Initially, the difficulty was getting freelancers on Rixero. Furthermore, we also needed to acquire clients, spread awareness and reach international customers. However, the biggest hurdle was to deliver the graphics within 6 hours.
Even though on our website we claim 24 hours, we love surprising our clients. Moreover, when our internal customers submit design requests from a different time zone during our non-working hours, it can prevent us from meeting our internal deadlines.
A major aspect of Rixero’s mission is supporting freelance designers. Can you tell us more about how the platform creates opportunities for creatives, particularly in a freelance economy?
Riddhi Chhabria: At Rixero, we are very transparent about how we reward our freelancers. 60% of what we make on each creative is given to the respective designer. There are many designers who are looking for job opportunities, they get to pick these projects up only when they have time to do it.
You’ve mentioned plans to grow Rixero’s designer network to 1,000. What steps are you taking to achieve this goal, and what qualities do you look for when selecting designers to join the platform?
Riddhi Chhabria: Interested designers take up three design assignments which determine their ability to meet Rixero’s standards. If they clear the test, they are listed on the platform.
Today, we have 300+ designers lined up, and we onboard them strategically in batches of 100 based on workloads so that the efficiency and quality can be maintained.
If you could go back to the beginning of your journey with Rixero, is there anything you would have done differently?
Riddhi Chhabria: I’d start with having an inhouse team for tech support from the beginning. Outsourcing some functions can be costly in other ways and invite delays, miscommunication, and even rising costs.
Outsourcing led to delays, miscommunication and was more expensive. An in-house team would have helped us control timelines better.
What advice would you give to yourself or other budding entrepreneurs starting their own ventures?
Riddhi Chhabria: For all the budding entrepreneurs out there, my only advice would be to trust one’s gut and avoid procrastination when starting a new venture. Many people say that impulsive decisions should be avoided.
However, I feel they are the best because it’s your gut telling you what to do. Just remember, if your gut took you so far, it won’t betray you now!
Riddhi Chhabria’s vision for Rixero has reshaped the design landscape, offering on-demand, personalized services that cater to diverse needs.
Her commitment to innovation and excellence continues to drive Rixero’s success in an ever-evolving industry.
