Tell us a little about yourself
Rithesh. R: Hi there! My name is Rithesh R, and I am a fun, witty, and quirky guy with a love for storytelling. I come from a humble lower middle class family background, but that hasn’t stopped me from pursuing my passions.
I completed my bachelor’s degree in ECE from Anna University and later earned my master’s in International Business Management. I’m a bit of a jokester, so be prepared for some sarcasm and witty comments in our conversations.
I am extremely passionate in what I do and always had an entrepreneurial mindset. I started my career in advertising, where I quickly rose through the ranks and became known for my creativity and strategic thinking.
I was fortunate to be part of many award-winning campaigns at an early stage in my career, which helped to shape who I am today.
And I successfully co-founded and bootstrapped Deepsense – an award winning multi-million dollar martech company.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, and indulging my passion for storytelling. I am always looking for ways to challenge myself and grow, and I am excited to see what the future holds.
Please tell us a little about your entrepreneurial journey
Rithesh. R: I am a co-founder of Deepsense, a company that I am incredibly proud of. I am grateful to have my co-founders, Rakesh and Ashok, by my side through the ups and downs of our entrepreneurial journey. In my opinion, having a good co-founder is essential for the success of any business.
Our journey has not been a fairy-tale, but we have persevered and grown as a company. When we first started Deepsense, we were very clear on who our potential clients were and we went after them with determination.
As the breadwinner for my family, I didn’t have a lot of time to prove myself, but I was determined to make our business a success.
I still remember pitching our first client and sharing our ideas with them. They were excited by what we had to offer, but unfortunately, they didn’t have the budget to work with us.
Despite this setback, we didn’t lose hope and remained in contact with them. It paid off, as they eventually referred us to a brand within ITC, and we were able to secure our first major client.
From there, we continued to grow and scale our business, from a team of three people to a team of 80. We have achieved this growth without a dedicated business development team, instead relying on referrals from our satisfied clients.
Even when the Covid-19 pandemic hit and many businesses were struggling, we were able to weather the storm.
We didn’t cut salaries or lay off any employees, and we were able to continue processing appraisals despite losing some clients.
Through it all, we never lost hope and continued to push forward, determined to make Deepsense a success.

Rithesh. R: The primary aim of Deepsense is to enable and empower their clients with an innovative digital strategy that helps them enhance efficiency, augment decision-making, bolster engagement and improve customer experiences.
The company believes that in today’s day of robust technological advancements, simply going digital is not enough.
A business needs a holistic digital strategy in place to make a substantial impact online and benefit from it.
What was the inspiration behind turning an entrepreneur
Rithesh. R: As a passionate and driven professional, I was constantly inspired by the endless possibilities and opportunities that come with building and providing solutions to the brand.
I was driven by a desire to create something meaningful and impactful, and to have the freedom and autonomy to shape my own path and destiny.
I was/am energized by the challenges and obstacles that come with entrepreneurship, and I see each one as an opportunity to learn, grow, and improve.
I am grateful for the support and encouragement of those around me, and I am excited to see where my entrepreneurial journey will take me.
What have been some of your failures, and what have you learned from them?
Rithesh. R: One of my biggest failure as an entrepreneur was saying yes to client needs without considering the potential consequences or impact on your business.
This failure led to a loss of a client, and it has taught you the importance of being able to say no when necessary.
It has also taught you the value of being able to provide guidance and direction to clients, and of being clear and assertive in your communication with them.
This is a crucial skill for a martech co-founder, as it allows you to protect your business and ensure that you are providing high-quality services that meet the needs and expectations of your clients.
By learning from this failure and developing the ability to say no and provide guidance to clients, you can avoid similar mistakes in the future and continue to build and run a successful agency.

What are some of the biggest mistakes you’ve made?
Rithesh. R: I have made a number of mistakes in my journey. One of the biggest mistakes I have made is trusting people’s words without taking the time to thoroughly evaluate their reliability and trustworthiness.
I have often relied on a person’s words without verifying their claims or looking for evidence to support them, and as a result, I have been taken advantage of and misled on a number of occasions.
This has taught me the importance of being cautious and discerning when it comes to trusting others, and of taking the time to thoroughly evaluate the people I do business with.
I have also made the mistake of being overly optimistic about my approach, tending to see the potential in every situation and believing that I can overcome any obstacle and achieve any goal.
While this can be a useful mindset for driving progress and success, it can also lead to overconfidence and a tendency to underestimate the challenges and risks involved in starting and running a business.
These mistakes have taught me the importance of being realistic and strategic in my approach, and of setting achievable goals that allow for growth and progress without overwhelming myself and my team.
If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?
Rithesh. R: Starting a business can be challenging, but it’s important to believe in yourself and your idea. It’s also important to focus on one thing at a time and give it your all.
By putting in the hard work and effort, you increase your chances of success. It’s also important to remember that success doesn’t happen overnight. It’s the result of consistent effort and hard work. So, stay focused and keep pushing forward!
Your success tips for young and aspiring entrepreneurs
It is fairly simple:
- Trust your gut, not others’ opinions
- You know your business best, so make decisions that align with your goals and vision
- Don’t be afraid to be a little sassy and have fun with it!
