In a candid interview with Rituu B Jhaveri, the visionary founder of Rowa’s Jewels, her entrepreneurial journey unfolds with compelling insights into the world of jewelry design and craftsmanship.

With a passion for blending tradition with contemporary aesthetics, Rituu shares her inspirations and challenges in establishing Rowa’s Jewels as a hallmark of elegance and innovation.

What inspired you to establish Rowa’s Jewels in 2016, and how has your family’s rich legacy in the jewelry business influenced your journey?

Rituu B Jhaveri: Establishing Rowa’s Jewels in 2016 was a natural progression for me, deeply inspired by my family’s rich legacy in the jewellery business. My journey began early, surrounded by conversations about precious stones and diamonds, a world beautifully crafted by my husband’s grandfather, Motichand Hirachand Jhaveri, who started our family business in 1931.

Watching my father-in-law and husband expand into fancy colour diamonds and serve elite clients globally fuelled my passion. I saw the artistry and precision in their work and wanted to add my own touch.

Armed with a degree in commerce and certifications in jewellery design, I envisioned creating a brand that married tradition with contemporary flair. Rowa’s Jewels is my tribute to our heritage, a blend of innovation and classic elegance, making timeless pieces that resonate with modern tastes.

Can you share some insights into the design process at Rowas Jewels? How do you ensure that each piece resonates with the individual style of the wearer?

Rituu B Jhaveri: At Rowa’s Jewels, the design process is both meticulous and deeply personal. It begins with understanding our clients’ unique tastes and stories. Each consultation is a journey where I get to know their preferences, lifestyles, and even the emotions they wish to capture in a piece of jewellery.

I draw inspiration from these conversations and combine them with my artistic vision, sketching out designs that reflect both individuality and timeless beauty. Using the finest materials and craftsmanship, every piece is created with attention to detail.

My goal is to ensure that each creation not only dazzles with its beauty but also becomes a cherished part of the wearer’s personal story, resonating with their style and essence.

With your background in both commerce and jewellery design, how do you balance the creative and business aspects of running a successful luxury jewellery brand?

Rituu B Jhaveri: Balancing the creative and business aspects of Rowa’s Jewels is a dance I perform with passion and precision. My commerce background provides a solid foundation for managing the business, from financial planning to strategic marketing.

This knowledge ensures that Rowa’s operates efficiently and remains competitive. On the creative side, my training in jewellery design allows me to pour my heart into each piece, ensuring it meets the high standards of luxury and innovation our clients expect.

By integrating creativity with business acumen, I can make informed decisions that benefit both the artistry and the growth of Rowa’s Jewels. This holistic approach helps me create a brand that is not only artistically fulfilling but also economically sustainable.

How do your hobbies and interests, such as illustration, travel, classical dance, and trekking, influence your jewellery designs and the creative process at Rowas?

Rituu B Jhaveri: My hobbies and interests deeply influence my creative process at Rowa’s Jewels. Illustration hones my attention to detail and ability to visualize intricate designs. Travel exposes me to diverse cultures, art forms, and architectural marvels, sparking fresh ideas and perspectives.

Classical dance teaches me about grace, rhythm, and the importance of storytelling through movement, which I translate into the fluidity and elegance of my jewellery designs.

Trekking connects me with nature’s raw beauty, inspiring organic shapes and natural motifs. These experiences enrich my creativity, allowing me to craft pieces that are not only visually stunning but also imbued with unique stories and cultural elements, making each creation truly one-of-a-kind.

Rowas Jewels is known for blending traditional artistry with contemporary aesthetics. How do you preserve heritage karigaari while catering to modern tastes and sensibilities in your designs?

Rituu B Jhaveri: Preserving heritage karigaari while catering to modern tastes is a delicate balance I passionately maintain at Rowa’s Jewels. I start by deeply understanding traditional techniques and the cultural significance behind them.

This knowledge allows me to infuse our pieces with authenticity and respect for the craftsmanship of yesteryears. To appeal to contemporary sensibilities, I innovate by incorporating modern design elements, experimenting with new forms, and using cutting-edge technology.

This fusion results in jewellery that honours the past while speaking to the present. Each piece at Rowa’s is a testament to this blend, celebrating timeless artistry with a fresh, modern twist, ensuring our creations are both classic and relevant.

Rituu B Jhaveri’s interview reveals a narrative of perseverance and creativity, showcasing how Rowa’s Jewels has carved a niche in the competitive jewelry market. Her dedication to quality and unique design resonates through each piece, reflecting a harmonious fusion of heritage and modernity.

Rituu’s vision for Rowa’s Jewels continues to inspire, promising a future where craftsmanship and artistry thrive in harmony.
