Today, we have the privilege of delving into the mindset of this remarkable individual, as she shares her insights, experiences, and aspirations in this exclusive interview.

Can you begin by describing the background of the formation of FOBET and what drove you to establish an educational platform, with a particular emphasis on psychology and related fields?

Riya Upreti: FOBET came into being amid the challenging backdrop of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, I observed a significant surge in the demand for psychology-related information and assistance.

It was alarming to discover that, in some instances, anxiety and depression appeared to be causing more harm than the virus itself, as people were overwhelmed by fear and uncertainty. This situation inspired me to establish FOBET, a platform designed to provide easy access to psychology and related subjects.

My mission is to make psychological knowledge readily available to everyone, helping them better understand and navigate the complexities of their mental well-being.

Education accessibility is a critical issue globally. How does FOBET work to democratize access to quality education, and what are some of the key principles guiding your approach?

Riya Upreti: I believe access to quality education is a global concern, and FOBET is addressing this issue with a unique approach. Unlike many ed-tech companies offering one-time paid courses, at FOBET we prioritise continuous support and guidance for our students. For instance, in psychology, we empower students to help those dealing with depression and anxiety, training them to become therapists.

This comprehensive approach doesn’t fit the conventional rewarded course model. Furthermore, FOBET believes in constant evaluation and feedback. Students take regular tests and undergo evaluations daily, with weekly progress reports to track their advancement.

This continuous monitoring ensures that students can see their progress, providing motivation and insights into areas where improvement is needed. By implementing these principles, FOBET is working to democratize access to quality education, making it accessible to all while fostering an environment of constant growth and support.

FOBET aims to leverage technology in education. What innovative tools and methods do you employ to make learning more engaging and effective for your users?

Riya Upreti: At FOBET, Our approach is providing a range of innovative tools and methods to foster more engaging and effective learning experiences for our users. One of the prominent tools we employ is “ManyChat”, an AI-powered platform integrated into our marketing strategy. This tool automates interactions on our Instagram platform by utilizing chatbots, making it easier for users to communicate with us.

In addition, we have adopted WhatsApp API, specifically the “Wati” platform. Through this, we continuously assess our students’ progress, which provides invaluable insights into each learner’s journey. This data-driven approach enables us to tailor our educational content and support to meet individual needs, ultimately improving the effectiveness of our educational offerings.

Furthermore, our commitment to innovation extends to the development of customized learning modules, real-time feedback mechanisms, and interactive content, ensuring that our users stay engaged and motivated throughout their educational journey with FOBET.

4. The ed-tech landscape is constantly evolving. How can ed-tech influencers work alongside educational institutions to increase inclusivity?

Riya Upreti: I believe ed-tech influencers can bridge the gap between technology and educators by acting as liaisons. They can help institutions identify relevant technologies and tools that promote inclusivity, such as accessibility features, language options, and adaptive learning platforms.

Additionally, influencers can facilitate direct engagement between institutions and their audiences. They can act as intermediaries, facilitating dialogues on inclusivity and sharing valuable feedback from the community.

This collaborative approach enables institutions to tailor their ed-tech solutions to better meet the needs of a diverse student body. Moreover, Influencers can also organize webinars, workshops, or online events where educators and students can discuss challenges related to inclusivity.

They can create a space for open dialogue and the exchange of innovative ideas. Lastly, ed-tech influencers can help in breaking down language and cultural barriers by promoting multilingual content and global perspectives.

As a leader in the field of education and technology, what advice do you have for individuals and organizations looking to make a positive impact in the education sector, particularly in areas like psychology and related subjects?

Riya Upreti: Always prioritize expertise and professionalism. When I initiated FOBET during my second year of studies, I recognized the significance of having qualified professionals to teach psychology. Education in this domain should be imparted by individuals with a solid foundation in the field.

Furthermore, whether addressing mental health or physical well-being, only speak and guide when you have the proper knowledge and understanding of the subject. This not only ensures the quality of education but also contributes to the overall well-being of individuals who rely on accurate information in these critical areas.

Additionally, fostering a culture of continuous learning and adaptation is key. The education sector is ever-evolving, and staying up-to-date with the latest research, methodologies, and technologies is fundamental for making a positive impact. Lastly, collaboration and community involvement can be highly effective in this field.

Building partnerships and networks with experts, educators, and organizations can amplify your impact and promote positive change in the education sector.

Riya Upreti’s role as the CEO and Founder of FOBET, The Psychology School, goes beyond the conventional notions of educational leadership. Her groundbreaking platform has redefined the way we think about access to knowledge, providing a gateway to the world of psychology and related subjects.

Through her unwavering commitment, Riya Upreti has not only elevated the standard of education but has also paved the way for countless individuals to embark on their intellectual journeys.
