An Exclusive Interview with Ruby Naz, Co-Director of Healths Rainbow Private Limited, a leading digital health platform
In this exclusive interview, Ruby Naz, Co-Director of Healths Rainbow Private Limited, shares her insights on leading one of the country’s foremost digital health platforms.
With a vision to make healthcare more accessible and technology-driven, she discusses the company’s journey, challenges, and the future of digital wellness in India.
What inspired you to co-found Healths Rainbow Private Limited, and what was your vision at the beginning?
Ruby Naz: “The inspiration for Healths Rainbow was born out of deep frustration and a call to action. We looked at Indian healthcare and saw a system that felt like it was only built for the basic and the general.
It broke our hearts to see millions of people—often struggling with intensely personal and specialized issues like Genetics Uncertainty, Cancer, PCOD, Constipation, HIV and Period Pain —being left behind because the system simply wasn’t set up for them.
Our initial vision wasn’t just to start a business; it was to ignite a revolution of specialized care. We set out to create a company defined by three promises:
- Specialized Certainty: To replace fear with timely, expert medical answers.
- Unwavering Access: To demolish the barriers of distance and cost, making high-quality care affordable and convenient for every Indian.
- True Empowerment: To hand control back to the individual, giving them the knowledge and personalized tools to truly manage their own destiny.”
How does Healths Rainbow differentiate itself from other healthcare and wellness companies in India?
Ruby Naz: “In a crowded market, our difference is emotional and foundational: we started with trust, not transactions.
While others began as clinics, we began as a Digital Health Pioneer—a voice of clarity that earned the unwavering loyalty of nearly one million people on YouTube. We spent years building a community, talking honestly about difficult topics like genetics, cancer, and women’s health, proving our commitment to their well-being first.
Now, we’ve transformed that trust into a tangible ‘one-stop shop’ for care. We offer a seamless embrace of services, from cutting-edge Advanced Pathology Labs and Home Healthcare Convenience to personalized Online Consultations.
We differentiate by refusing to choose between heart and technology—we combine cutting-edge innovation with a genuine, patient-centric approach to truly revolutionize their entire healthcare journey.”
How do you view the current state of healthcare and wellness in India, and what key gaps remain unresolved?
Ruby Naz: “The current state of healthcare in India is a picture of potential marred by disparity. We see pockets of world-class excellence, yet this access is often a luxury, not a right. The most heart-breaking, unresolved gap is the chasm of accessibility.
For too many people, quality care remains financially out of reach or miles away, creating delays that can cost lives. We have seen in recent past Our government is putting best efforts to improve healthcare and upto some extent it has worked as well, we wish to support our government in its efforts.
Healths Rainbow exists to challenge this status quo. We are fundamentally committed to ‘bridging the gap’—not with slow, incremental change, but with a passionate drive to make high-quality, expert medical care affordable and convenient for everyone, right now. Our mission is to transform healthcare from a privilege reserved for the few into a reliable promise for all.”
How is consumer awareness changing in terms of preventive healthcare and holistic wellness?
Ruby Naz: “We are witnessing a profound, hopeful shift in the heart of the Indian consumer. The era of passively waiting for sickness to strike is over. Fuelled by the daily realities of modern life, health awareness is rapidly evolving into a passionate commitment to proactive well-being.
People no longer view self-care as a luxury but as a non-negotiable, everyday ritual. This deep commitment is visible in the fervent demand for preventive screenings, the embracing of holistic practices like yoga and Ayurveda, and the enthusiastic adoption of health-tech like wearables and personalized AI fitness plans.
This isn’t just a trend; it’s a fundamental change in mindset that reflects a desire for a richer, higher quality of life, demanding long-term health management.”
What were some of the biggest challenges you faced in building trust in such a sensitive and vital sector?
Ruby Naz: “Building trust in the digital healthcare space felt like scaling a sheer cliff face—it was the single toughest challenge. It stems from the fact that we are dealing with our users’ most vital secrets. The biggest emotional hurdles were three-fold:
- The Fear of Betrayal (Security): Patients are paralyzed by the fear of a data breach and the thought of their confidential records being misused. This skepticism is deep-seated, and only uncompromising, transparent security can begin to heal that fear.
- The Doubt of Distance (Reliability): In virtual care, the absence of a doctor’s physical touch breeds a painful doubt about diagnostic accuracy. People worry that remote care is inherently inferior, forcing us to constantly prove that digital quality can surpass in-person mediocrity.
- The Ache of the Impersonal (Rapport): True healing requires a human connection, yet the screen can feel cold and transactional. We had to work tirelessly to ensure the virtual setting still nurtures that essential, irreplaceable doctor-patient trust and rapport.”
What opportunities do you see for scaling Health Rainbow’s model both across India and internationally?
Ruby Naz: “The opportunity for Healths Rainbow isn’t just growth; it’s about replicating the magic of trust at scale. Our journey began as a digital voice—a successful YouTube channel—which gives us a massive head start. We can leverage that existing, passionate digital brand to:
- Dominate the Indian Market: Our immediate focus is on the massive and underserved Indian population, tackling the gaps in accessibility and affordability by integrating our digital brand with an asset-light service model.
- Export the Trust Globally: Since our core strength is our digital platform, we have the immense opportunity to export our educational content and, eventually, our specialized telehealth services to the Indian diaspora and other emerging markets internationally.
We are poised to turn digital loyalty into global reach, making our trusted brand the new standard for specialized, accessible care everywhere.”
What advice would you offer to young entrepreneurs, particularly women, looking to make a mark in healthcare?
Ruby Naz: For success in the demanding healthcare sector, young women entrepreneurs must first build trust by establishing digital authority, maintain relentless focus on quality and compliance, as transparency in credentials and regulatory mastery are crucial for credibility.
Strategically, entrepreneurs should solve high-friction, gender-specific problems (e.g., PCOD) that are currently underserved. Finally, they must build a strong network of allies and master their business data and pitch.
Ruby Naz’s dedication to innovation and patient-centered solutions continues to shape Healths Rainbow’s success.
Her leadership reflects a powerful blend of technology and empathy, steering the platform toward a future where healthcare is not only digital but truly inclusive and transformative for communities across the nation.
