Sai Sudharsan: Rising Star of Indian Cricket
Bharadwaj Sai Sudharsan – Sai Sudharsan is an Indian International cricketer. He plays for Tamil Nadu in domestic cricket and for Gujarat Titans in the IPL. In 2023, he made his debut for Indian cricket team in One-day Internationals (ODIs) in a series against South Africa in December.

Sai was born on 15th October 2001 in Chennai, India. His father’s name is R. Bahradwaj & mother’s name is Usha Bharadwaj. Sudharsan’s father was an athlete who represented India at the South Asian Games in Dhaka. Even his mother was a state level volleyball player. He has studied from Vivekananda College. He is a left handed top order batter.

Making Waves in Domestic Cricket
Sai made his Twenty20 debut on 4th November 2021, for Tamil Nadu in the 2021–22 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He made his List A debut on 8th December 2021, for Tamil Nadu in the 2021–22 Vijay Hazare Trophy.

International Debut and Early Successes
Sudharsan’s performance in the TNPL led to his selection in the IPL team. In February 2022, the Gujarat Titan bought him in the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament.
He was picked up by Gujarat Titans (GT) at the IPL 2022 mega auction for his base price of INR 20 lakh. He made his IPL debut after Vijay Shankar was ruled out of the match with an injury in April 2022.

He scored a steady 35 on debut and played five games in his first season, averaging 36.25. Sai had a breakthrough season at IPL 2023. There he played just eight games, batting up the order, and still finished third on the run-scorers’ list for GT with 362 runs at 51.71. It includes three fifties.
In the 2023 season of the IPL he scored 362 runs in the tournament with the average of 51.71. He scored 96 in the IPL final against Chennai Super Kings, but unfortunately his team Gujarat Titans would go on to lose that match.

The highlight of Sai Sudharsan’s IPL 2023 season was the final where he smashed a 47-ball 96, with eight fours and six sixes. Though GR went down to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) off the last ball. Sudharsan signed for Surrey for the final three matches of the 2023 County Championship in August 2023.
