Samar Deep Singh is an Indian poet and novelist. His recent novel ‘How I failed in love’ has created a buzz around the literary circles.

His debut novel ‘Five Gifts that shaped my life’ received a warm response and hit the ‘Bestseller’ rank multiple times in the Children’s Literature and Fiction category at Amazon.

He has graduated with B.tech. in Mechanical engineering and he began his career as an engineer in a reputed PSU.

When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?

Samar Deep Singh: I have written my first poem at the age of 10. Honestly speaking, I was 99.9 percent poet by heart and soul. 

Two years back, I have ventured into writing a novel – Five Gifts that shaped my life. It was a watershed moment in my life and a wonderful experience. Now, I am writing my sixth novel titled – Little secrets of my crush!

When did you first consider yourself a writer?

Samar Deep Singh: 2019 was the year when I started writing my first novel. Well, it was received well and appreciated by the readers.

It became an Amazon bestseller and thereafter I have started taking writing on a serious note. I give all my credit to my wife – Jashmi Deep Singh and my best friend – Prashant Kumar Chaudhary. They have encouraged me to be an author.

How many books have you written?

Samar Deep Singh: I have written five novels till now.  Five Gifts that shaped my life was my debut novel released in 2019. Others are:

• How I Failed in Love
• Love Guru Connection
• Never Date Blue-Eyed girl
• Secret Diary

Currently writing ‘Under my Skin’ and ‘Little secrets of my crush’ scheduled to be released this year.

What is your work schedule like when you’re writing?

Samar Deep Singh: Mostly, I write late at night. The best time is when others are asleep in my family.

How long does it take you to write a book?

Samar Deep Singh: Mostly it takes two months to write a book from my side. I wrote How I Failed I Love in just 14 days. Love Guru Connection took three weeks. It depends according to the storyline but I try to finish a novel strictly in two month’s time frame.

When did you write your first book?

Samar Deep Singh: I have written my first book – Five Gifts that shaped my life in January 2019.

How do books get published?

Samar Deep Singh: We have two modes – self and traditional publishing. Mostly I prefer the kindle due to its ease and flexibility.

What is the most difficult part about writing for you?

Samar Deep Singh: Luckily, I have never gone through these shortcomings. By God’s grace…I think I’m pity blessed!

What advice would you give new writers?

Samar Deep Singh: Read as much as you can. Write to inspire the world.
