Sameer was born on 3rd March 1974 in Rohtak, Haryana, India. His father’s name is Balvan sing & his mother’s name is Krishna.
His father was known as a powerful mining businessperson of his times. He got married to Divya Gehlaut. The couple have two children.
He received his engineering degree (B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi in 1995.
Sameer studied mechanical engineering from IIT Delhi and then went to America to work. After working for two years in America.
He returned to India to join the family business. When he returned to India, he came to know about the sale of a company.
Sameer bought that company without any delay along with his friend Rajeev Rattan. He started the company from a small shop in Hauz Khas, Delhi.
After working hard for a year, that company became India’s first internet based brokerage services company. He named his company India Bulls Financial Services.
Sameer founded Indiabulls Group in 1999. It was one of the India’s first online brokerages.
He founded it from a small office with two co-founders. He led the business through its IPO in 2004.
The company expanded into consumer lending, business, providing home & vehicle loans in the same year.
It was one of the first companies in India, which allows customers to apply for consumer loans & mortgages online.
Today India Bulls is the largest online and retail brokerage firm in the country. Sameer Gehlot is only 42 years old and is among the richest people not only in India but in the world.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Indiabulls Foundation distributed healthcare kits in 2021.
