An interview with Sanchayita Deb, Co-Founder of Misfits Comms and Digital Services
In this interview, we speak with Sanchayita Deb, the dynamic Co-Founder of Misfits Comms and Digital Services. With a passion for innovation and a keen understanding of the digital landscape, Sanchayita has played a pivotal role in shaping the agency’s success.
She shares her journey, challenges, and the vision that drives Misfits to stand out in a competitive industry.
Can you share a bit about your background and what led you to co-found Misfits Communications?
Sanchayita Deb: Before co-founding Misfits Communications, I worked with several software technology companies in India and abroad. Upon returning to India, I joined a software services company but quickly realized the lack of work-life balance and the monotony of tasks that didn’t align with my interests.
Transitioning to freelancing allowed me the flexibility to focus on raising my child and supporting my family. After a few years, I joined Misfits Communications as a Quality Assurance Lead.
Four years later, I was offered the role of co-founder. Misfits has been a platform where I could explore diverse responsibilities, innovate, and truly enjoy my work.
The communications landscape is constantly evolving. How did you adapt to industry changes and stay ahead of the curve?
Sanchayita Deb: Our early adoption of Artificial Intelligence and its integration into product development has been a key differentiator. By leveraging AI to meet business needs, we’ve consistently delivered innovative solutions, keeping us ahead of industry trends.
Misfits has a reputation for challenging traditional communication norms. How do you define the “misfit” mentality, and how does it influence your strategies?
Sanchayita Deb: Our tagline, “Misfits Stand Out,” encapsulates our philosophy. At Misfits, we design software and products that simplify business operations. We believe that many business challenges can be resolved with straightforward yet powerful solutions. It’s not about overcomplicating; it’s about making things easier and more effective.
What type of clients do you typically work with, and how do you ensure your approach is tailored to their unique needs?
Sanchayita Deb: During the development of Agrim, we engaged with several of our previous clients to gain a deep understanding of their pain points and requirements. This feedback allowed us to craft a product that directly addresses their needs.
What is the best piece of advice you received when starting your entrepreneurial journey?
Sanchayita Deb: The best advice I received was simple yet profound: “Be patient.” Patience is crucial when navigating the challenges of entrepreneurship. It helps you stay focused, make sound decisions, and weather the ups and downs of the journey.
Sanchayita Deb’s insightful reflections reveal the dedication and strategic thinking behind Misfits Comms’ rapid growth. Her journey continues to inspire aspiring entrepreneurs and digital professionals, showcasing the power of creativity, adaptability, and forward-thinking in a constantly evolving market.
