Meet Sangeeta Sharma, Certified Life Coach, Hypnotherapist, and acclaimed Author, who blends mind-body techniques to unlock profound personal growth. In this interview, she shares transformative insights on hypnosis, coaching strategies, and authoring life’s next chapter for lasting empowerment.
What inspired you to begin your journey in emotional wellness and hypnotherapy?
Sangeeta Sharma: A moment that demonstrated the actual weight of emotional suffering motivated me. One of my workers was experiencing a serious breakdown, including suicidal ideation, emotional collapse, and family stress. I intervened, helped her develop confidence and self-love, and saw her take back her life.
I was really shaken by the incident and seeing her get her life back on track was incredible. This incident shifted something big in me and I felt that helping others overcome their life’s deeper emotional and mental struggles and improve from the inside out was more important than my work in the IT industry
I was dealing with my own detachment at the same time; I was successful on the outside but felt void and emptiness on the inside. I closed my IT business and started a journey to discover who I am as a result of that disparity. I threw myself into the learning curve.
Along the process, I discovered many healing modalities, such as hypnotherapy and neuroscience, and I started helping other people. What started as a way for me to wake up and find myself became the basis of my book “Four Layers to Your Dream Life”.
Was there a personal experience or turning point that led you to this path?
Sangeeta Sharma: The turning point for me was when I saw that employee change. I knew in my heart that my intervention had saved one life.
This incident had a deep impact, my hidden wounds surfaced and made me ask questions like “ Am I really fine or just trying to smile from the outside and suppress my emotions by staying over busy?” I realized that on the outside my life looked great.
On the inside I felt empty. I found that I was not being true to myself. This made me think about what I wanted. I decided to make a change: I closed my IT company. I did not close it because it was failing. Because I wanted to find out who I really was.
In a quest to understand and connect with my true-self, I started exploring different healing modalities like hypnotherapy, NLP, neuroscience and energy work. Each one of these helped me peel the layers and connect to my true- authentic self.
While I was working on myself, I started helping people in my inner circle which further led to the creation of my Four Layer Alignment System. It was born not from theory, but from lived experience of my transformation and those I got a chance to mentor.
You have over 11 years of experience as a life coach, how has your approach evolved over time?
Sangeeta Sharma: In the beginning my work was about using different techniques like energy healing, NLP, hypnotherapy and coaching to help people with specific problems.
I used these techniques to try and fix the issues.. As time went on I started to see that this was not really working. I realized that people need more than a quick fix.
The Four Layer Alignment System is what I came up with. It is based on the idea that we as humans store life experiences and memories into these four layers- the Body, the Energy, the Emotional and the Mind.
I think that if you want to help someone you need to help that person work through all these four layers to process and heal . Working just with the mental layer(mind), trying to stay positive will not work. It is like driving a car with three flat tires.
My work is deep now. I use a lot of things to help people, including what we know from neuroscience and what we can learn from spiritual wisdom. I also use my experiences to guide people. My goal is to help people feel like they belong.
I want to help them move away from feeling disconnected and tap into their true empowered self. The Four Layer Alignment System is designed for healing from the root. It helps people to make changes that’re real and that will last.
What were the biggest challenges you faced while establishing yourself in this field?
Sangeeta Sharma: The biggest challenge I faced was people believing in what I do. For a time life coaching, emotional wellness and hypnotherapy were not taken seriously in India. People thought they were weird or not really helpful.
When I first started people did not even understand what life coaching, emotional wellness and hypnotherapy were. They would ask me if it was really necessary or if it actually worked.
I had worked as a computer professional for 27 years and was running my own IT- Company in 2014 when I decided to close it and try to figure out what I really wanted to do with my life. My family and friends did not appreciate my decision to close my company.
Some of my relatives or friends would make fun of me behind my back. This was very hurtful. I still chose to walk on this path because I believed in myself and knew it was a calling bigger than me.
Slowly and gradually, I started understanding the transformation process with more depth, helping people get real and sustainable results, and build trust.
As my clients’ lives transformed, people began to see that what I was doing really worked for many. Over time people started to respect what I do. They could see that my inner alignment process and life coaching skills were changing people’s lives.
How did you build trust in a space where therapy and coaching were once stigmatized?
Sangeeta Sharma: I built trust with people because I was consistent. I believed in myself. I really wanted to help people change their lives.
When I first started people did not understand what therapy and coaching were. They thought it was not necessary and that it did not work. I knew that the only way to change what people thought was to show them the change in myself.
I spent a lot of time learning things so I could help people in a way that would really make a difference. I used what I learned from my life to create systems that would help others.
I went through a lot of changes myself from being broken to being whole and from being fragmented to being complete. I used what I learned from my own journey of transformation to create techniques that would help my clients. These techniques really helped people all around the world.
After a while people could see that my work was based on experiences and not just ideas. They saw that what I did was not about science but also, about the heart and soul.
My methods were not just theories, they were real. They created real change that lasted. This is what made people trust me because they could see that I was authentic.
Can you share a moment in your career that deeply affirmed you were on the right path?
Sangeeta Sharma: One client looked at me with tears in her eyes. Said, ‘I feel like I belong to myself for the first time.’ That moment was unforgettable.
It was more than feedback. It was a declaration of transformation. I saw someone move from feeling broken and lost to feeling like they belonged. It showed me that my work can really change lives.
I felt a sense of purpose. My struggles and challenges couldn’t shake my confidence because I knew this work was my calling.
As I kept going I got reviews and testimonials from clients all over the world. Each story of healing. From feeling broken to feeling whole from feeling empty, to feeling like I belong made me feel like I was where I was meant to be.
The stories kept coming of transformations, healing and finding themselves feeling like they belong. With each story my conviction grew. I was doing what I was meant to do and It was making a difference.
Working with clients across 21 countries is remarkable. How did your work become global?
Sangeeta Sharma: I stayed consistent on social media with the intention to give people insight about my work and also enable them to experience the transformation for themselves through my free workshops, sharing tools, and content that showed them what healing was like. This built trust with people around the world.
My work started spreading globally organically, also people everywhere have wounds, It does not matter if you are in India, Europe or the United States. My Four Layer Alignment System helped people because it uses neuroscience and spiritual wisdom.
This system resonated with people from cultures. People told their friends and family about it. Soon I was getting messages from all over the world. They liked my system because it was deep and they could relate to the changes it brought.
What started as my personal journey eventually started giving people life-changing results and that global reach across 21 countries is testament to both my work and people across countries are looking for healing beyond physical diseases.
What has been the most rewarding part of helping people heal emotionally?
Sangeeta Sharma: The best part of my work is seeing the moment when someone starts to feel like they really belong.
I have seen people who felt completely broken like they were not even visible or felt trapped and then they start to speak up for themselves, they start to see their worth and they start to feel happy again. It is like seeing a light come back into their eyes, a spark that says I am enough and I belong here.
What makes this so amazing is that anyone can understand how this feels. We have all had times when we were just trying to get by going through the motions or pretending to be someone we’re not just to survive. To see someone stop doing that to start being themselves and to feel comfortable in their skin is really something special.
Those moments remind me why I started doing this work in the place even when it was hard and I had doubts.
Every time someone tells me about the progress they have made, every time someone has a breakthrough, every story about someone moving from feeling empty to feeling like they belong, it reminds me that “Inner alignment is not just possible it’s transformative also”.
Being a part of that change is the best thing and the greatest reward of my work is that it has added MEANING to my life which is BEYOND MYSELF.
How do you personally stay emotionally balanced while supporting others through trauma and pain?
Sangeeta Sharma: I stay balanced by doing what I tell people to do. I take care of my body. I get rid of energy every day I write down how I feel and I try to think differently about things.
I also make sure to rest and be creative because I think that is how I can really understand the Four Layers, not just teach them to people.
Beyond that, I am consistently trying to learn things and find new ways to help people through redesigning tools and techniques. With every client and every session, I strive to give my best
When I work with someone I try my best to help them. I can only do that because I keep working on myself too.
As I grow and learn I can share that with people and help them more. This ongoing commitment keeps me aligned, resilient, and able to hold space for people’s deepest pain while guiding them toward transformation. In truth, “my balance is not separate from my work , it is woven into it.”
If you could speak to your younger self at the start of this journey, what would you say?
Sangeeta Sharma: I will say, “Trust the emptiness. It’s guiding you to your truth. Don’t fear the masks falling away. Your journey will touch lives worldwide but it starts with belonging to yourself.
Take your challenges and struggles as lessons to learn. They are not obstacles, they are the foundation that shapes your life’s meaning. Every hardship helps you understand others better and serve them genuinely.
Rise above the doubts, pain and uncertainty. These struggles will become the path you walk and the path you show to millions. Your conviction will carry you and your alignment will change lives.”
My journey began with disconnection, but it taught me that true success is alignment. When body, energy, emotions, and mind come together, we don’t just survive, we thrive.
