Shalimar Paints Limited is one of the leading paints manufacturing company in India. The company was established by two British entrepreneurs AC Wright and AN Turner in 1902 as Shalimar Paints Colour & Varnish Ltd.

The company is engaged in the manufacturing of decorative paints. Some of India’s buildings including the Howrah Bridge, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Salt Lake Stadium, Vidyasagar Setu, Rashtrapati Bhawan, and many others, continue to be painted with Shalimar Paints.

The company was the first paint manufacturing company to paint a fighter aircraft for the Indian Army.

The company set up a large-scale manufacturing plant in Howrah, West Bengal in 1902. in 1992, The company established its start of the art manufacturing plant in Nashik, Maharashtra to cater to the Western region.

In 2002, the company established its third manufacturing unit in Sikandrabad, U.P. in 2002. At Sikandrabad plat, the company manufactures both, decorative and industrial paint products.

With state of the art technology, Shalimar Paints introduced many firsts in the industrial coatings segment like radiation resistant coatings, high build zinc coatings, polyurethane paint, among others.

The company went public and in 1989. The company was acquired by the S.S. Jhunjhnuwala Group and O.P. Jindal Group.

To strengthen its product portfolio, the company has set up a greenfield plant in Chennai to serve the southern market and catering the ever expanding product line meeting the new requirements of the market.
