Mr. Shiladitya Chaudhury, Founder & Managing Director, Sagittarius Communications Pvt.Ltd. Co-Founder & Partner, Platter Hospitality Pvt Ltd (Owner of the leading restaurant brands Oudh 1590 & Chapter 2) The Founder & Managing Partner of Kolkata’s two of the most loved dining destinations, Oudh 1590 and Chapter 2, Shiladitya Chaudhury is a multifaceted personality.

A Bachelor Of Arts from Calcutta University and an MBA from Institute of Business Management Studies, Mumbai, Shiladitya started his Public Relations firm, Sagittarius Communications Pvt Ltd in 2004, after ten years of successful stint in Public Relations.

Sagittarius today is one of Eastern India’s leading PR firm. Shiladitya also has an experience of working in leading National & Global conglomerates including Daewoo Motors in India.

Sagittarius has strategized and contributed towards the growth of some great brands like WBIDC, Dollar Industries, Bengal Aerotropolis, electrosteel castings, Disha eye hospitals to name a few.

As a successful entrepreneur, he has brought in many innovations and contribution in the field of Public Relations with his vast experience, which has led to rapid expansion of Sagittarius Communications.

He also has the merit of working closely with many eminent personalities like the Former Lok Sabha Speaker, Sri Somnath Chatterjee, during his tenure as the Chairman, West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation.

In 2013, Shiladitya along with his brother Debaditya researched and curated to open a first of its kind period dining Awadhi restaurant brand of the country, Oudh 1590.

Buoyed with its success in a decade’s time the brand has 12 outlets across Kolkata and Delhi – NCR. As the brand completed a decade’s journey, an aggressive plan has been put in place for its national & global expansion with a Mission 2025; to open 25 restaurants across Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune and Hyderabad.

The passion for food and music continues to drive both to their creative best as they gifted the Kolkatans with the first retro dining restaurant, Chapter 2.

Chapter 2 has been conceived as a humble tribute to the cuisine and the music culture of Park Street of the 40’s,50’s and 60’s for which Park Street was famous for, globally.

An avid wildlife photographer and globetrotter traveling to more than 50 countries, Shiladitya has travelled extensively across the world capturing rare moments and his photos are a big draw in the city’s wildlife photography exhibitions.

He is also the Editor of Environ, the widely circulated wildlife magazine of the country and a columnist with The Telegraph.

To his credit, he already has 3 books on wildlife photography published by Rupa Publications, Ministry of Tourism, The Government of Gujarat and the National Jute Board.

He is a Governing Body Member of Nature Environment & Wildlife Society popularly known as NEWS a NGO working towards restoration of mangroves in the Sundarbans.

He is also the Governing Body Member of Stagecraft Foundation, an initiative of Ms Usha Uthup, to recognize and reward technicians creating a knowledge platform for the craftsmen working behind the stage.

Shiladitya, is also a music composer. He has over the past 25 years have composed music for many Bengali films; and has composed music for over a dozen music albums being sung by Asha Bhonsle, Amit Kumar, Usha Uthup, Kumar Sanu, Abhijeet, Alka Yagnik and Shaan amongst others.

Shiladitya’s story begins with humble origins, where he faced numerous challenges and obstacles on his path to success.

Born into a modest family, he was fueled by a deep passion for entrepreneurship. Armed with an indomitable spirit, he embarked on a journey that would transform not only his life but also the lives of countless others.

As he navigated the unpredictable waters of the business world, Shiladitya encountered setbacks and failures that would have deterred many.
