Shruti Sood – Founder of Morning Lazziness
This is the interview of Shruti Sood, Woman Entrepreneur and founder of Morning Lazziness, empowers everyone to believe in themselves and providing the best entrepreneurship ideas, life guides, relationship advice, wellness, fashion, health, and leadership traits.
Tell us a little about yourself
Shruti Sood: This is Shruti, founder of Morning Lazziness. It has always been my dream to contribute something fruitful to society. And, in this digital era, I am blessed enough to start something of my own.
Hailing from a computer science background, I never thought of starting my blogging journey. But after college, I joined a digital marketing company as a content writer, and the rest is history.
In my first job, I got introduced to the digital world, which gives me access to pursue my dream.
If you can think well, be creative with your words, then the online world gives you a lot of opportunities. And, that is where I learned every inch of Digital Marketing.
I learned WordPress, Digital Marketing, various tools such as Moz, SEMRush, etc. to start my journey as a professional blogger. The fascinating part of blogging is, the deeper you go, the more interesting it becomes.
How did you get your idea or concept for the business?
Shruti Sood: It was the year 2018 when I started Morning Lazziness just as an Instagram channel, only to put inspirational and motivational quotes every day to help people get out of their beds and get moving.
It was working out well for me until I went through a rough breakup. This changed my perspective completely and I began to write about relationships.
I realized that people out there needed some kind of solace and the right advice and direction to get through a relationship at various stages. This is what I focused on and thus writing about relationships became my purpose.
I received a lot of appreciation for my work and that gave me a boost of confidence. Simultaneously, I was working at a firm as a content creator.
After changing 2-3 jobs in a year, my dedication towards my blog- Morning Lazziness took a backseat for a few months.
Later, at the time of Covid, I lost my job and decided to give my full-time to Morning Lazziness. Initially, the response was low, but as time passes, people start loving the inspiration I give them through articles.
And in no time, my blog turned into a Magazine. Covering different categories, be it women entrepreneurship, health, fitness, business tips, and yoga & meditation.
Today I have more than 500 writers writing stories and informative articles for the magazine. They share their own experiences and it has been an amazing journey so far.

We are creating an impact on people’s life directly or indirectly with our content. Our approach to solving this particular problem makes us unique & significant to all.
What made you choose this type of business?
Shruti Sood: Well, I love to write and share perceptions and ideas related to relationships and healthy life.
Inspiring people to do their best, that is why I started Morning Lazziness as an Instagram channel, and when the things in life got tough, as I already mentioned above, working towards spreading positivism and motivation purposefully, the only thing left.
What was your mission at the outset?
Shruti Sood: My mission at the outset was very simple – “To reach & guide the individuals who are seeking expert advice for their relationship & life goals, through the content medium.”
What’s your company’s goals?
Shruti Sood: At present, we have 500+ expert writers & 10K plus monthly readers. In the next 5 years, we want to extend our reach to 100 Mn+ readers & 5K+ expert writers.
How do you build a successful customer base?
Shruti Sood: The idea to build a successful customer base is simple – focus on their problem & create effective solutions for that. We focus on the basics more, that’s why our readers love us more.
What have been some of your failures, and what have you learned from them?
Shruti Sood: The words failure and Entrepreneur go parallel. I’ve made a lot of mistakes, and I think all entrepreneurs do. But I’ve learned so much from them.
“I guess, there should be a machine, which indicates to every entrepreneur prior, that you are going to make a mistake, so don’t go that way..”
At the early stage of the magazine, I thought of developing websites for every different category.
For example, for entrepreneurs there should be a different site, for relationships, there must be a new site, and so on, but then I decided instead of giving my time to multiple projects, why not to give one.
What I recommend to every entrepreneur is not to juggle their mind at multiple places, instead focus on one thing and keep that going.
These days, what entrepreneurs want is to keep their hands in every field, but what I prefer is to put all their focus and efforts in one place and grow in it.
Another mistake I made was, I started being active on social media very late. Maybe it was a few months back only when I thought to give my time to social media.
And, I guess it’s the biggest mistake. Because whenever you start any business you may need to make your presence on social media. It’s a digital era, where socializing and engaging with people is very important for every kind of business.
My third, and last mistake, which I even regret today, why I delayed hiring a strong team for my business. The time you start your business, hire a great team, from that day, only.
“Every entrepreneur can recover from their mistakes. It’s just they are willing to accept and learn from their mistakes. “
Who has been your greatest inspiration?
Shruti Sood: Arianna Huffington & Martha Stewart are the individuals whom I admire more. The way they do things and inspire people to move ahead is just amazing.

If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?
Shruti Sood: Every day is a new beginning, remember this thing. Start a day with writing a journal- note down your thoughts and ideas, what you want to achieve, following with 15- minutes of meditation, and read some positive affirmations.
Remember the reason or think about your passions, that you started for. It will never let you slow down.
Does your company help the community or society?
Of course Yes, I believe in spreading positivity in everyone’s life. Every other article on the website is somewhere connected to the life of the writer.
Depicting how they manage to overcome the business hindrance to stay positive in those tough times of life..
