An Exclusive Interview with Simer Motiani, founder of Stellaratti Brand Consultants, a Brand Communications Agency

Simer Motiani, founder of Stellaratti Brand Consultants, shares her inspiring journey from acting and modeling to leading a pioneering all-women PR and marketing agency.

With expertise in media management, influencer marketing, and strategic brand consulting across luxury, F&B, and hospitality, she reveals valuable insights into today’s evolving communication landscape.

Your journey from acting and modelling to founding Stellaratti Brand Consultants is quite inspiring. How did your experience in the entertainment industry shape your approach to media and brand consulting?

Simer Motiani: My time in the entertainment industry gave me a front-row seat to how media really works, how stories are told, how perception is shaped, and how audiences connect emotionally.

Acting and modeling may seem very different from PR, but they actually have a lot in common. Both are about storytelling and connection.

That experience helped me understand the value of timing, visibility, and presence, which naturally translated into how I approach brand consulting today. It gave me a foundation that I’ve built on ever since.

Stellaratti Brand Consultants is known as one of India’s pioneering all-women PR and marketing agencies. What motivated you to establish an all-women team, and how has this influenced the company culture and client engagement?

Simer Motiani: When I started Stellaratti Brand Consultants, I didn’t consciously set out to build an all-women team, it just happened organically.

Over time, I realised how powerful it was to have a space where women could lead with confidence, collaborate openly, and bring their unique strengths to the table.

It’s definitely influenced our culture. We’re super detail-oriented, we listen closely, and we bring a lot of heart into our work. Clients often say they feel that energy and passion in how we engage, and I think that’s what sets us apart.

With deep expertise in media management and influencer marketing, how do you see the role of influencers evolving in the luxury, F&B, and hospitality sectors?

Simer Motiani: Influencer marketing has changed a lot. It’s no longer just about big numbers and flashy content. Especially in the luxury and F&B space, audiences are looking for authenticity and trust.

We focus on working with creators who align with the brand’s values and genuinely love what they’re promoting. It’s about building long-term stories and relationships, not just one-time posts. That’s where the real impact happens, when there’s a natural fit and the content feels organic.

What are some of the unique challenges and opportunities you encounter when working with premium and luxury brands compared to other market segments?

Simer Motiani: With luxury brands, everything has to feel considered. The tone, the visuals, the platforms, even the people representing the brand. It’s not just about being seen, it’s about how you’re seen.

That level of curation can be challenging, but it’s also incredibly rewarding. The opportunity lies in creating campaigns that spark emotion and stay with people. We’ve learned how to balance aspiration with relatability, which is so important in today’s market.

Can you share a standout campaign or project that exemplifies Stellaratti Brand Consultants’s innovative approach in the hospitality or F&B space?

Simer Motiani: One project I’m really proud of is India Cocktail Week. It was more than an event, it was a vibe, a cultural moment. We brought together the right mix of influencers, media, and on-ground energy to make it feel fresh and exciting.

Another great example is our ongoing work with places like DPB Taj-Goa, Farzi Beach-Goa, Khyber-Mumbai, and Monkey Bar- Mumbai.

We don’t just do PR, we immerse ourselves in the brand, and that shows in the way people connect with the space. It’s always about telling the story in a way that feels real and relevant.

What was your mission and vision at the outset?

Simer Motiani: From day one, the goal was to be more than just another PR agency. I wanted Stellaratti Brand Consultants to be a real partner to brands, especially in the premium and luxury space, helping them navigate a fast-changing landscape with clarity and confidence.

The vision was also personal. To build something meaningful, led by women, that stood for creativity, integrity, and impact. And that’s still the north star today.

What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs, especially women, looking to build their own agency or lead in the competitive PR industry?

Simer Motiani: Be clear about your purpose and don’t wait for the perfect moment, just start. The industry can be tough, but it’s also full of opportunities if you’re willing to put in the work. Relationships matter a lot, so be kind, stay honest, and build your network with intention.

And for women especially, don’t second-guess yourself. Your voice, your ideas, and your leadership are valuable. Surround yourself with people who support you, and trust your own instinct. It’ll take you far.

Simer Motiani’s visionary leadership at Stellaratti highlights the power of innovation and diversity in brand consulting.

Her journey underscores the importance of agility and creativity in navigating the dynamic world of media and marketing, making Stellaratti a trailblazer in India’s luxury and lifestyle sectors.
