A1Office AKA Office suite of India.

What is unique about your brand?

Millions of users trust A1Office with managing their documents – our unique proposition is that we keep our users at the core of our product development – every feature that is being developed is decided after extensive user feedback and strong analytics. Moreover, we have a very driven team that is self-motivated.

What made you choose this type of business?

Handling such a large scale is rarely possible in any business, this is what excites our team and keeps us on our toes.

The ability to launch new features, and products at will is a great flexibility that our team likes. Moreover, the skillset required to scale such a business is present in the team and coincides well with the overall direction.

What was your mission at the outset?

To create a product line that millions of users use every day and something that can become a part of their life.

How many employees in SpiralDevApps?

We are 20 members strong as of June

What’s your company’s goals?

To continue creating products that make the life of a user easier – majorly focusing on ease of use & collaboration.

What have been some of your failures, and what have you learned from them?

In the past, we as founders failed to realize the importance of building a sustainable business. From the day we started this company we have been very clear about this, that the purpose of the funding is growing and one should not be dependent on it for survival.

What was the inspiration behind turning an entrepreneur

Being able to see the whole picture excited us from the very beginning and we always used to ask each other why there is no solution for problem X – the only solution to answer this question was to jump right into it.

Key things to consider before starting a startup?

Having the right set of people around you should be step one. Also as mentioned in the previous point – make sure that what you are building is actually sustainable else you will always be chasing market trends.

What are some of the biggest mistakes you’ve made?

Some of the mistakes that we have made –

1. Assuming that you need funding to run every business
In the end, a business that is dependent on funding to operate is not even a business at all. We realized that funding is a booster – which when correctly used can lead to amazing results.

2. Underestimating the importance of a good team
An amazing team with a poor idea will always perform better than a poor team with an amazing idea.

Your success tips for young and aspiring entrepreneurs

Don’t get too influenced by the funding news around you – take your time to build sustainable businesses – it might take longer but it is definitely worth it.
