She was the topper of UPSC Civil Services Examination in 2014. To the common man, the success of Ira Singhal would seem to be a miracle.

Ira Singhal an IAS topper. The goal was not that much easy. Despite her disability, she works hard to achieve what Ira wants in her life. With the motivation of family and friends. She never let dominated her disability in Infront of her aim.
Ira Singhal is suffering from Scoliosis. (A condition characterized by a sideways curvature of the spine or backbone) In this disease, the patient has a spine-related disorder.
She has faced lots of hurdles in her life to get what she wants, but from good support from parents, friends and self-determination, Ira achieves what she wants from life.
Ira Singhal was born on 31st August 1983 in Meerut. She has scoliosis Disease, which is why she can’t walk properly and has short height.
Her father is an engineer and her mother is an insurance advisor. She always boosted by her parents and reached the destination.
Ira has completed her schooling at Sophia Girls and Loreto Convent School Delhi. Despite her disability, she studied further and completed her Engineering from Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology and done MBA in Marketing & Finance from Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi.
Ira has faced many problems at the time of schooling. When she approaches schools for admission with her father, schools deny admission.
They suggested my father take admission to a disabled institute. Many times, this depressed me, but my father’s moral support gave me a path to rise. She attempted in UPSE exams and scored 1,082 marks out of 2025 and secured 53.43% in 2014-2015.
Despite achieving exams in the first attempt in 2010, she was not allowed to take a position. Ira approaches a lot but didn’t get an appointment.
Due to her disability, she suffers. Despite the bad outcome, she didn’t get disheartened. Era filed a case in the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) and won after 4 years.
That was a happy moment for Ira, She gets posted as Assistant Commissioner in the Indian Revenue Service. This was a cheerful moment for her and her family. After crossing lots of hurdles, she achieved this position.
Ira Singhal also tried for Civil services and selected after the first three attempts. She applied For the Civil services examination in 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2014, she gets selected in the Indian Revenue Service.
This is more than an achievement. Life has taken a u-turn and getting what she wants is a proud moment for her, family and friends who were always there for boosting her. In 2015 she got Indian Administrative Services (IAS).
Ira Singhal is a model for disabled as well as for normal person too, who get disheartened in their struggling period. She shows the world that nothing is impossible when we are determined to our goal.
Before appearing for Civil Services Examination in 2010, She was with Cadbury India Strategy Manager and Coca-Cola Company as a Marketing Intern. Posted as an Assistant Collector (trainee) in the Government of Delhi and taught Spanish for a year.
Ira Singhal achieving list does not end up. She becomes a brand ambassador for the Department of Disability and Marks her presence. People who ignore her, now she becomes a famous face among them.
She is also a brand Ambassador for the Ministry of Women and Child Development and NITI Aayog.
She has also been a part of the design of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Examination Policy concerning children with disability.
Now she a Face of India who achieves her goal despite her decease. What she did, is not that much easy, but she shows that no one can stop anyone if he/she stood strongly.
She was also invited to speak on motivational issues, education, disability, gender issues, skill development, career counselling etc. and gain lots of appreciation.
She was also invited to schools, colleges, disable centres, top institutes for motivational speech and career guidance.
Ira showed her potential to People who demoralized her and rejected her from her deserved post. She is a face for disable persons, and also for all human being. That nothing is impossible for the desired one.
