Sunil Rathi: Halomax Lighting Solutions was born out of a clear and simple vision — to make world-class lighting design and technology accessible in India, while tailoring solutions to local needs.

We noticed a gap between the quality of international products and what was available domestically, and we wanted to prove that Indian brands could deliver lighting on par with global standards.

The journey has been both challenging and deeply fulfilling. From winning client trust to executing projects across residential, commercial, and hospitality spaces, every milestone has strengthened our belief in innovation, quality, and service.

Today, Halomax stands as a brand shaped by passion, perseverance, and the ambition to transform every space through the power of light.

The lighting industry is rapidly evolving with smart technologies. How is Halomax Lighting Solutions embracing this change?

Sunil Rathi: The shift toward smart lighting is transforming how people experience light, and Halomax has fully embraced this evolution.

More homeowners today prefer intelligent lighting systems that blend functionality with comfort, and we ensure our products are designed to meet that demand.

Most of our fixtures are dimmable and compatible with popular smart lighting apps, backed by high-quality drivers for seamless performance.

By merging innovation with dependability, we offer clients lighting solutions that are smart, adaptable, and ready for the future.

What has been your biggest challenge while growing Halomax, and how did you overcome it?

Sunil Rathi: One of our biggest challenges was changing the perception that Indian lighting products couldn’t match the quality of international brands. Many clients initially preferred importing fixtures rather than trusting locally made ones.

To overcome this, we focused on producing lighting that met — and often exceeded — global benchmarks, while offering something imports couldn’t: personalized service and quick support.

Over time, our consistency and commitment helped shift that mindset. Today, Halomax stands as proof that India can deliver lighting solutions that rival the best in the world.

How do you identify and understand consumer needs in such a diverse market like India?

Sunil Rathi: India’s diversity makes understanding consumer preferences both exciting and complex. Our customers—mostly homeowners—have varied tastes, budgets, and design sensibilities.

To bridge this gap, we invite them to our experience center, where they can see and feel how lighting transforms spaces.

With multiple brands and price segments under one roof, we’re able to guide clients based on their home aesthetics—be it contemporary, classic, or minimalist.

By studying their interiors, furniture, and personal style, we recommend lighting options that perfectly complement their vision.

How do you ensure quality while still keeping your products competitively priced?

Sunil Rathi: Balancing top-notch quality with competitive pricing is challenging but not impossible. We achieve it by never compromising on materials—whether it’s LEDs, drivers, wiring, or finishes, only the best go into our products.

At the same time, large-scale manufacturing helps us manage costs efficiently. We also maintain fair margins—enough to sustain business growth while ensuring customers get real value for their money.

What advice would you give to your younger self when you started this journey?

Sunil Rathi: If I could speak to my younger self, I’d say—don’t worry if confidence wavers in the beginning; it’s part of the process. The early years are about trying, experimenting, and learning what works.

But one key lesson I’ve learned is to be cautious about extending credit in business. Early on, I was too generous with it, which taught me some hard lessons. Today, I focus on sustainable practices and stronger financial discipline.

Every mistake and every success along the way has shaped who I am and how Halomax has grown.
