Can you share with us the journey that led you to establish Zeon LifeSciences?

Suresh Garg: Zeon LifeSciences was established as a result of a transformative journey that began in 1987 with Mahaan Dairies Ltd, the first private dairy plant in Himachal Pradesh. We produced items like Pure Desi Ghee, Skimmed Milk Powder, and more.

In 2003, The Union Government announced a special industrial package for Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Recognizing the opportunities in the health and wellness sector, we expanded our offerings to include Nutraceuticals, Phyto-pharmaceuticals, Ayurvedic Products, and Food Ingredients and Mahaan replaced with Zeon Lifesciences Ltd.  

We shifted our focus to contract manufacturing of nutraceuticals due to a gap we observed in the market for high-quality, customized formulations. Specifically, the medical nutrition market was gaining traction, and we wanted to fill this gap by becoming a reliable partner for brands seeking to bring their formulations to life.

This decision allowed us to specialize and excel in providing top-notch manufacturing solutions tailored to the needs of our clients.

Today, Zeon Lifesciences stands as a global leader in the Nutraceuticals, Health & Wellness industry.

What inspired you to venture into the Contract Research and Manufacturing (CRAMS) sector, particularly in the Nutrition wellness and Ayurvedic product space?

Suresh Garg: As an Industrialist I never wanted to confined myself, my motivation to enter the Contract Research and Manufacturing (CRAMS) sector, particularly in the Nutrition wellness and Ayurvedic product space, stems from a desire to diversify and maximize the potential of our existing capabilities.

Within our premises, we have established four units, each equipped to handle different aspects of production including liquid, solid dosage, dry blending, and spray drying facilities. This diverse infrastructure provides us with the flexibility to produce a wide range of dosage forms and SKUs for nutraceutical products.

Recognizing the broad spectrum of opportunities in contract manufacturing, we strategically decided to leverage our comprehensive facilities to cater to various clients and product categories. By doing so, we not only expand our market reach but also capitalize on the growing demand for nutraceutical products.
