He is an occasional right-arm medium pace bowler as well as right-handed batsman. Previously he played for Kolkata Knight Riders. On 14th March 2021, he made his debut for the Indian Cricket Team in Ahmedabad.
However, he played his debut innings on 18th March & scored 57 runs. In that match he became the 4th-Indian batsman to score half century in T20 debut match. Earlier Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma & Ishan Kishan did the same.
He was born on 14th September in a typical Notrh Indian middle-class family. His father’s name id Ashokkumar Yadav & mother’s name is Swapna Yadav. His father is from Ghazipur & he is an electric engineer with BARC.
On 7th July, 2016, Suryakumar married to Devisha Shetty. He learnt playing cricket while playing in the streets of Mumbai, Maharashtra.
At the age of 10, his father enrolled him in a cricket camp in BARC colony in Chembur. After couple of years, he went to Elf Vengsarkar Academy where Dilip Vengsarkar guided him.
During 2010-11 Ranji Season, he made his first-class debut against Delhi. With the score of 73 runs, he was the only player to score a fifty in Mumbai’s first innings. After that, he became regular member of the side & there he scored well in every season.
He was named in India C’s squad for the 2018-19 & 2019-20 Deodhar Trophy in October 2018.
He was selected for India’s Twenty20 International (T20) squad against England in February 2021. That was his first International for Indian Team. He made his debut against England on 14th March 2021. On 4th match of the series on 18th March played first ball of his international cricket & he hit a six over long leg.
He received IPL contract from Mumbai Indians for season 2021. He played just one match during the season & in that match, he was dismissed at zero by Marlon Samuels.
In 2014, he was bought by KKR in IPL auctions.

In that season he broke the headlines in IPL 2015 when he hit a match-winning – 20-ball 46 with five sixes – against Mumbai Indians at Eden Gardens. Due to his incredible strike rate, he was appointed as the vice-captain of the team in 7th edition of IPL.
