Tata Motors launches Altroz premium hatchback for less than Rs.5.5 lakh

Tata Motors, India’s largest automobile company has commercially launched its first premium hatchback Altroz(Tata Altroz) at an introductory price starting from ₹5.29 lakh in the Indian domestic market.

Tata Altroz is the first product under the auto major’s modular alfa architecture. Apart from Altroz, the company has also introduced BS-6 versions of Tigor, Nexon, and Tiago.

Tata Altroz 5 variants XE, XM, XT, XZ and XZ (O) and 5 color options have been launched in Sky Line Silver, Street Gold, Downtown Red, Midtown Gray, and Avenue White. The BS-6 variant Tata Altroz car has been launched in both diesel and petrol options.

“We promised to introduce an aggressive product at the beginning of the year and we are here,” said Gunter Buschek, Tata Motors Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. We have started by launching a new generation vehicle with a BS-6 engine in the market, he added. The need to convert fuel-efficient, clean and sustainable solutions (vehicles) into reality today.

The company said that five versions of the Altroz will be available at all Tata Motors authorized showrooms and authorized dealerships. The company said that with the introduction of Nexon and Altroz, Tata Motors became the first OEM to launch the BS-6 diesel variant in the respective categories.

The base variant of the Tata Altroz car is priced at Rs 5.29 lakh, while the top variant is priced at Rs 9.39 lakh. The company can launch the electric version of the car in the year 2021. The starting price of the diesel car is 6.99 lakh rupees (ex-showroom price).

Altroz is the safest hatchback car in India, which has been recently received a 5-star rating in the (Global NCAP) Car Assessment Programme. Tata Altrose is the first product based on the company’s new ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) architecture. A 37-liter fuel tank is provided in Altroz.
