Shardul Thakur, Indian right-arm medium-pacer roped in as Tata Power’s brand ambassador
Tata Power roped in the Indian right-arm medium-pacer Shardul Thakur as its brand ambassador. Though Thakur appeared in various campaigns with his respective IPL team this is his first major commercial endorsement.
Thakur, who has been in the news for all the good reasons and gave his performance in the recently concluded T20 series in New Zealand, will support various new green initiatives of Tata Power. The bowler also won man-of-the-match at the 4th T20I in Wellington last week.
The new campaign by Tata Power featuring Shardul Thakur went live in the media last week, with a remarkable presence in radio, digital, and outdoors. The featuring of Shardul Thakur in the video will have to wait till his return from an overseas trip, Tata Power said.
“We welcome Shardul Thakur to Tata Power. He epitomizes Tata Power’s values and hard work, commitment, honesty, and success. We see him as a major change- agent in our new endeavors in the areas of our work in ‘green’ power which will help society and Mother Earth”, stated Praveer Sinha, CEO and managing director, Tata Power.
He also added, “We are aggressively getting into solar power in domestic, as well as in e-charging for vehicles of the future. Shardul will help us communicate the goodness of our work in these areas to our consumers.”
Shardul, a boy from Mumbai, got his first taste of first-class cricket for Mumbai in the year 2012-13. He is known for his aggressive pace bowling, his quantum leap came in the year 2014-15 when he claimed 48 wickets at 20.18 and broke the bowling charts. The recent New Zealand series witnessed the bowler perform at the peak for India.

He made his debut in test in October 2018 against the team West Indies and his debut in one-day against Sri Lanka in August 2017. In the domestic Indian Premiere League he has played for Kings XI Punjab in the year 2015-16, the Rising Pune in the year 2017 and for the MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings since 2018.
