Tata Tiago EV Coming September 28 – India’s Most Affordable Electric Car

September 20, 2022: Tata Motors has confirmed that it will unveil its Tiago EV on September 28, 2022. This will be his third electric product in the country for the domestic automaker, after Tigor EV and Nexon EV.

Details of the model are still secret. However, there could be minor cosmetic changes, as well as a smaller battery than the Tigor EV.

The latter comes with a 26kWh battery that gives him a range of up to 306km on a single charge. The Tata Tiago EV is said to have a range of about 300 km.

Due to the smaller battery pack, the electric hatchback will have slightly less power and torque than the Tigor EV.

As mentioned above, you can make some cosmetic changes. This model could feature a closed grille, blue accents, and a new color scheme. As for the price, Tata Tiago electricity costs around 10 rupees (ex-showroom).

If it comes out in this price range, it will be the cheapest electric car in the country. Currently, the Tigor EV is priced between INR 12.49 lakh and INR 13.64 lakh (all from the Delhi showroom).

Tata Motors has announced plans to launch 10 new electric vehicles by March 2026. The project will invest approximately $2 billion in new vehicle architectures and related technology and infrastructure.

Future Tata electric vehicles will have a minimum cruising range of 500km and advanced technical features that will appeal to a wider range of users.

The company aims to increase its annual production of electric vehicles to more than 80,000 units this year.

In the latest update, the Pune-based automaker is working on a new and more powerful 2.2-liter diesel engine that could replace the existing His 2.0-liter engines in the Harrier and Safari. The new unit will be equipped with a lean NOx trap, a diesel particulate filter (DPF), and AdBlue.
