December 3, 2022: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) employs around 2.1 lakh or 35 per cent women employees of the total workforce, according to the 2022 Burgundy Private Hurun India list.

According to the 2022 Burgundy Private Hurun India list, India’s largest IT company TCS has emerged as the country’s top employer of women with around 35 per cent women staff.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) employs about 2.1 lakh or 35 percent of the total workforce of women employees.

Axis Bank’s Burgundy Private and Hurun India released the second edition of the top 10 women employers in the country.

Other IT majors Infosys (1,24,498), Wipro (88,946) and HCL Technologies (62,780) employ 40 per cent, 36 per cent and 28 per cent women employees respectively.

Fifth on the list was Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries (62,560), which has 18 percent women staff. In 2022, TCS added 65,750 employees, of which 27,055 were women, while Infosys added 54,396 employees, of which 24,177 were women.

Wipro added 45,408 employees this year, of which 16,952 were women, and HCL Tech added 42,915 employees, of which 16,818 were women.

The other five companies on the list were Motherson Sumi Systems, Tech Mahindra, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank and Page Industries.

Burgundy Private, the private banking business of Axis Bank and Hurun India have released the ‘2022 Burgundy Private Hurun India 500’.

This is the second edition of the list, which ranks the 500 most valuable companies in India. “Women account for 16 percent of the boards of companies in the 2022 Burgundy Private Hurun India 500.

As India’s economy grows and the India 500 grows larger, the percentage of women board directors is also expected to increase.
