Nitin Gadkari, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister said, Tunnel project worth over Rs 1 lakh crore to be spent in next five years, small or big competent players need to be given the opportunity and there is a need to relax parameters for bidders. The government will increase its emphasis on tunnel works at strategic locations to ensure seamless movement in the next five years.
Union Road Transport and Highways Minister, Nitin Gadkari, “In our country, There is a need for a strong tunnel system to provide all-weather connectivity, especially at the strategic locations. In the next five years, we will spend worth more than Rs 1 lakh crore for tunnel constructions,” the road transport and highways minister said.
