Entrepreneurial Journey of Varuna D Jani, Jewellery Designer
Born into a family deeply rooted in the jewelry industry, with my father being a jeweler and the proud owner of Popley, an esteemed company with a remarkable 80-year history, I was immersed in the world of jewelry from a very young age. This early exposure ignited a passion within me for the art of jewelry design.
In 1991, my family made a significant decision to relocate to Dubai, a city renowned for its thriving jewelry scene at the time and known as the Mecca of Gold.
It was during my time there that I found myself drawn to the gold souks, a bustling marketplace filled with skilled artisans and captivating designs. It was in this vibrant environment that my aesthetic sensibilities began to take shape and evolve.
Inspired by the craftsmanship and innovative designs I encountered in the gold souk, I started to recognize a distinct gap in the Indian market.
I saw an opportunity to introduce avant-garde luxury jewelry that broke away from convention and offered a limited collection of 40-50 designs.
I wanted to provide individuals with truly exceptional pieces that showcased contemporary aesthetics and catered to their desire for exclusivity.
In 2006, driven by my passion and entrepreneurial spirit, I took the leap and founded my own jewelry brand, which would later be known as Varuna D Jani.
It was an exhilarating journey that allowed me to translate my creative vision into reality. In 2008, I proudly inaugurated our flagship store, marking the beginning of a new chapter in my entrepreneurial venture.
