Interview with Venkatesh C R, Indian Entrepreneur and CEO of Dot Com Infoway

Venkatesh C R

This post is purely dedicated to Venkatesh C.R. Indian entrepreneur and CEO of Dot Com Infoway from Tamil Nadu.

Tell us a little about yourself

I have always been homegrown in Madurai. I did most of my basic schooling at the local Vikaasa School.

It was only when I entered college that I departed for Chennai where I studied Mechanical Engineering at Anna University.

It didn’t take long for me to return to Madurai after graduating. I was around 23 when I entered the software and information technology field.

Back then, it was still a fledgling, to say the least, especially in my city. That said, that’s one of the main reasons why I joined and served as President of the Internet Users Community of India and founder of CRV Infotech from 1996 to 2,000.

In April 1999, I founded Dot Com Infoway as a way to concentrate on my goals and acquire the needed capital to achieve them. From then on, my career as CEO of DCI was sealed.

How did you get your idea or concept for the business?

I’ve been interested in technology since time immemorial. Of course, that may seem like an overstatement but that should give you an idea about how much passion I have for it.

It pretty much laid the framework of DCI’s concept of offering adaptable, diversified, and results-driven solutions as us fitting for an industry characterized by rapid evolution.

What service(s) or product(s) do you offer?

We are known mainly for our Mobile App Development, App Marketing, Web Development, and Digital Marketing Services.

Besides these primary solutions, we also offer consultations for app and business owners. That’s not to say that we limit ourselves to services.

We are also proactive in pinpointing present hurdles in various vital sectors (education being one good example) and developing our own products to address the said challenges.

What is unique about your business?

Besides DCI’s historical mileage and dynamic solutions, we are also proud of our record as a customer-first company.

We have nourished a company mindset that terrific, positive results are the product of solid partnerships with our clients.

And, of course, the key to this lies in our innate desire to do everything that’s viable and effective to achieve their goals.

What made you choose this type of business?

I’ve always wanted to harness the power of information technology and the Internet to give businesses in various industries a helping hand.

Even back then, I already realized their immense potential, and I’m glad I was proven correct by how impactful the I.T. industry and digital marketing has become.

What was your mission at the outset?

I wanted to warm business owners up to the idea of the Internet revolutionizing the way they render their products and services. I meant to open their eyes to the vast potential I saw in it.

How many employees in your organization?

At present, we are more than 300 strong and are still growing.

What are your company’s goals?

To ensure customer satisfaction as we deliver customized and cost-effective solutions to their various problems.

This same desire extends to our initiatives to assist other industries. In doing so, we hope to be recognized as one of the top I.T. companies in India and the world.

How do you build a successful customer base?

We do our best to treat them like family. I believe that’s the hallmark of a stellar partnership and customer service.

We get to know them, their own goals, besides just hearing out the obstacles that they seemingly can’t overcome.

Once we have built that sound and sturdy network, we do our best to maintain it by providing assistance even well after the project has been completed.

If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?

Once you enter this industry, you should set yourself up for the long haul. This means coming to terms with the fact that you’ll be dedicating a good portion of your life (if not its entirety) to your enterprise.

This also readily implies you have a passion for it. Once you adopt this kind of thinking, you’ll find that everything else, the enthusiasm to uplift your colleagues, look for opportunities, manage and organize everything, follows.

Does your company help the community or society?

I like to think that we do. That’s one of the reasons for its founding after all. And our portfolio stands tall to readily show proof.
