Vidur Gupta: Spectrum Talent Management is one of the leading recruitment firms in India, and we identify ourselves as a one-stop solution for global-local human talent management.
In 2008, Spectrum was created to utilise and manage India’s most valuable resource: its manpower. Since then, we have strived hard to advance by successfully addressing the employment and recruitment needs of numerous national and international organisations.
Our company has evolved into a global organisation with 12 offices across 4 countries, India, US, UK, and UAE.

Spectrum started as the brainchild of two young professionals who identified corporates’ huge demand for talent acquisition.
From identifying the right opportunities to getting the right team onboard has fostered our position as one of the respected names in the HR industry.
Please tell us a little about your entrepreneurial journey
Vidur Gupta: Along the way to build a successful business, we faced a few challenges. First of all, my partner and I started off almost fresh out of college at the age of 23 which itself came with a lot of challenges of its own, be it experience in the field, contacts, the capital, etc.
We started with a mere 2 lacs each and built a business that generated Rs.465 Crores in the top line last year. We were able to achieve all this in 14 years.
Secondly, since HR is a very fragmented industry, to reach the height we are at today, we had to continuously innovate.
Kindly brief us about Spectrum Talent Management, its specialization, and the services that it offers
Vidur Gupta: Spectrum Talent Management provides extensive HR services spanning the entire talent life cycle, including Recruitment, Onboarding, Payroll, and Flexible Staffing.
We are also anticipating high growth, especially in our recruitment service delivery, due to the accelerated rate of digitisation and globalisation.
Last quarter was excellent in terms of specialised hiring, and we see a similar upward trend in the next few months too.
With excellent recruiters in our team, industry experience and business insights backed by solid technology help us to remain competitive in the recruitment industry.
Kindly mention some of the major challenges the company has faced till now
Vidur Gupta: Along the way to build a successful business, we faced a few challenges. First of all, my partner and I started off almost fresh out of college at the age of 23 which itself came with a lot of challenges of its own, be it experience in the field, contacts, the capital, etc.

Secondly, since HR is a very fragmented industry, to reach the height we are at today, we had to continuously innovate.
What are your growth plans for the next 12 months?
Vidur Gupta: We closed a revenue of Rs 465 crores at the end of FY21–22, up 55% from Rs 298 crores in the prior year. The increase in demand across all market segments in India and throughout the world for recruitment and staffing services is the primary driver of growth.
We intend to open more US offices and concentrate on growing internationally. Additionally, we want to expand our presence in India, where we expect our business here to grow by more than 30% this year.
How do you see the industry in the future ahead?
Vidur Gupta: The future of the human resource industry has been redefined in many ways over the last few years and significantly accelerated by the pandemic.
Whether it is remote working, upskilling, reskilling, employee engagement, or digitisation. It also has led to the awareness that, in terms of shape, size, skills, and organisation, today’s workforce may not be the workforce that will be needed in the future.
Hence, the entire HR industry is in the process of reinventing and transforming itself to meet future demands.
For instance, we will soon see HR positioned as a predictive engine for leaders and businesses. According to us, the industry’s future will be based on four pillars – evidence-based decision-making through predictive analytics, digital service to employees, clients, and partners, workforce management due to enhanced automation, and increased investment in a learners-first approach to keep the skills relevant for an extended period.
Regarding recruitment, hiring for skilled professionals is bound to increase monumentally in the coming months.
The industry is seeing a rising importance of business and technology enablers like virtualization, convergence, and cloud. How do you see these emerging technologies impact your business sector?
Vidur Gupta: New technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and cloud computing are helping businesses at large.
For example, an ML-powered software is fed with data of certain skill sets; the software uses the data and shortlists a set of candidates with those skills.
With artificial intelligence and virtual assistance, the struggles of HR professionals with endless phone calls or emails have ended.
Organisations now use online portals to search for the best candidates. The procedure has been made efficient with the help of the internet allowing many people to apply for a particular profile and companies to choose the best candidate.
The HR sector is a complex domain that involves many processes. The use of technology in the field has offered relief to professionals from a significant amount of manual tasks.
We have HR tech that helps us to analyse real-time data – high-demand skills, recruitment trends, staffing requirements, etc.
An increased use of technology sustains the entire HR function as a strategic one. Thanks to the globalisation of the economy and labour market, hiring is not limited to geographic boundaries.
Thus the use of technology will not only reduce human error and subjectiveness but will also deliver improved efficiency and quality.
What is your Leadership Mantra?
Vidur Gupta: According to me, leadership mantras are many and need to be applied to different situations. However, the biggest mantra for me is measurement. Just measure everything you do continuously and you will keep improving and innovating continuously.
