Vinet Kuumar is CEO of ThoughtSol InfoTech, a leading IT solutions and service provider company that focuses on empowering businesses with digital transformation.

As the CEO of ThoughtSol, he leads the executive team and has the responsibility of building relationships with clients and partners.

While he ensures that the firm meets its financial goals, his primary role consists of developing and implementing the company’s mission, vision, and overall strategy.

Externally, his duty is to represent ThoughtSol in public and in the media, while internally, he is responsible for creating a diverse culture of innovation and excellence.

With a demonstrated working history of 28 years in the IT industry, Vinet has gained knowledge, expertise and experience in diverse domains such as business development, business analysis, sales management, relationship management, leadership enablement, and profit centre management.

Previously, he was one of the founding members of Progressive InfoTech, a leading system integration and services company.

He worked with the firm for more than fifteen years in diverse roles such as general manager, vice president, and director in the enterprise sales department.

During his tenure, the company received several awards and accolades for the IT system integration business from CRN, VAR, SME Channel, HP, and Oracle.

Vinet’s interest, enthusiasm, and passion for technology determined his career trajectory, and his drive to provide meaningful solutions in a revolutionary manner is what motivates him to thrive.

Vinet holds a degree in B.E. (Electronics) from Bangalore University, and along with his technical experience and business acumen, he was able to initiate a company, which is now providing innovative solutions in the market under his guidance.

It is again under him that the company has aimed to achieve its next target of $52 million by the end of this fiscal year.

He has also participated in trainings ranging from executive management programmes at IIM Ahmedabad and ISB Hyderabad to professional development programmes led by renowned experts like Dr. Ram Charan and Mr. Shiv Khera.

To maintain his health and well-being, he leads a disciplined lifestyle and favours morning walks and meditation.

In addition, he is also passionate about farming and gardening. He also enjoys spending time with his family when he is not working on his professional projects.

Tell us a little about yourself

Vinet Kuumar: I am Vinet Kuumar, CEO of ThoughSol InfoTech, leading IT solutions and service provider company that focuses on empowering businesses with digital transformation.

With a demonstrated working history of 28 years in the IT industry, I have gained knowledge, expertise, and experience in diverse domains such as business development, business analysis, sales management, relationship management, leadership enablement, and profit centre management.

Before founding ThoughtSol Infotech, I was the Director- Enterprise Sales at Progressive Infotech, a leading System Integration, and  Services company.

Academically, I hold a degree in B.E. (Electronics) from Bangalore University, Bangalore and along with my technical experience and business acumen, I initiated a company, which is now providing innovative solutions in the market under my guidance.

ThoughtSol for me is a platform where I have been able to showcase and leverage my skills to provide solutions and services that create value for their clients.

Please tell us a little about your entrepreneurial journey

Vinet Kuumar: We were doing great in our respective job profiles, but we had an urge of starting our own organization leveraging our knowledge and expertise of IT sector.

Our goal was to build our business from scratch and reach a higher pedestal within a shorter time frame.

That’s when Ratan Dargan, Bindiya Vohra, Saket Vohra and I myself decided to join hands and turn our dream of becoming first-generation entrepreneurs became a reality.

We were determined to make a change. So, we embraced the challenge, and after months of hard work, we launched our venture, Thought-Sol in 2012.

Vinet Kuumar: My experience in IT Solutions and services gave me the confidence to transition into starting my own business.  I realized that I had the skills and connections to make a successful venture.

I saw an opportunity to combine my passion for technology with my experience in IT Solutions and services, so I decided to take the plunge and create a business based on technology. 

My passion for technology and the expertise I had built in the field made it a natural choice to pursue this type of business. That is how ThoughtSol was born.

What is your Leadership Mantra

Vinet Kuumar: I think that to be a successful leader, you must assemble a talented and enthusiastic group of people who are driven to cooperate in order to achieve a common objective. In addition, you need to be a good listener and receptive to the suggestions and critiques of your staff.

What’s your company’s goals?

Vinet Kuumar: With total revenue of $35Mn in the current fiscal year. We have set an ambitious goal to reach a total revenue of $52Mn by the end of this fiscal year.

To achieve this goal, we are investing in technology, expanding our customer base, and exploring new markets. We are also focusing on hiring the best talent from across the world to join our team.

What have been some of your failures, and what have you learned from them?

Vinet Kuumar: My trajectory in the IT sector is comprised of 3 phases. Initially, when I just started my career where my entire focus was to build and reach a position.

Second, When I reached a managerial position in my career, and lastly, my current position. When I look back and summarise my stint, I wouldn’t call it a failure but more like a setback in which I couldn’t make a difference in the work culture.

I’ve always known that having a positive and dynamic work culture is the key to a successful organization but mostly I did not have the authority to make that impact at that time, which is why at ThoughtSol, it has been my number one priority to have a healthy work culture and diversity at its footstep.

As I continue to build and grow our business, ThoughtSol, I now prioritize creating a workplace environment that is engaging and encourages collaboration, respect, and growth.

Ultimately, striving to make ThoughtSol an organization with the world’s best work culture. Our sole motive is to keep our employees and clients happy.

Key things to consider before starting a Business

Vinet Kuumar: I would say that maintaining your focus and confidence are the main key to starting any business. For those who are prepared to put in the necessary effort and commitment, the coming decade belongs to India.
