An interview with Alok Katiyar and Dr. Deeksha Katiyar, WeClinic™ Homeopathy, a Kanpur-based innovator in holistic healthcare
In a captivating interview with Alok Katiyar and Dr. Deeksha Katiyar of WeClinic™ Homeopathy, we delve into their innovative vision for holistic healthcare.
Based in Kanpur, their approach combines traditional homeopathy with modern practices, aiming to transform patient experiences and promote overall well-being.
What inspired you both to start WeClinic™️ Homeopathy, and how did your backgrounds in technology and medicine shape the clinic’s vision?
Alok Katiyar: The idea for WeClinic™ came from a shared desire to bridge a gap we both felt—accessible healthcare that doesn’t compromise on quality. My background is in engineering and tech startups, while Deeksha has always been deeply committed to holistic medicine.
In 2019, we began by organizing free homeopathy camps during a dengue outbreak, and the response was overwhelming. It was clear to us that people were not just open to alternative healing. They were actively seeking it.
That’s when we decided to combine her clinical expertise with my tech experience to build something scalable and impactful.
Dr. Deeksha Katiyar: For me, homeopathy has always been about understanding the individual beyond just their symptoms. But I also knew that for holistic care to be truly impactful, it had to be accessible, especially to people in rural and semi-urban areas.
That’s where Alok’s background came in. We envisioned WeClinic™ as a platform where traditional wisdom could meet modern delivery while bringing personalized, compassionate care to people’s doorsteps, both offline and online.
WeClinic™️ is recognized for its tech-enabled, paperless operations. What are the key innovations you’ve implemented to streamline patient care and clinic management?
Alok Katiyar: From the beginning, we built WeClinic™ as a digital-first healthcare platform. Our entire patient journey, from consultation to medication delivery, is designed to be seamless and paperless.
One of the key innovations was our early adoption of teleconsultation, which allowed us to scale quickly during the pandemic and beyond.
We also introduced a cash-on-delivery model for medicines, which helped establish trust in areas where digital payments were not yet common.
Behind the scenes, our CRM system helps doctors personalize treatment based on each patient’s history, while our analytics dashboard ensures we track outcomes in real time. These systems create an experience where patients feel heard, cared for, and followed up with.
Dr. Deeksha, what role does holistic healing play in your approach to homeopathy, and how do you balance traditional wisdom with modern practices?
Dr. Deeksha Katiyar: Holistic healing is the heart of homeopathy. It’s about understanding a person as a whole, not just as a collection of symptoms. My training at the London College of Homeopathy deepened my belief that health is a balance of the mind, body, and spirit.
At WeClinic™, we balance this approach with modern tools. For instance, we use structured data to track patient progress, and digital platforms to stay in touch and guide patients through long-term treatments.
When patients feel truly cared for, when their lifestyle, emotional well-being, and medical needs are all addressed, they begin to heal in ways that go beyond just physical relief.
Alok, as a second-time entrepreneur, what lessons from your previous ventures have influenced your approach to scaling WeClinic™️?
Alok Katiyar: One of the biggest lessons I learned from my earlier startup was the importance of adaptability. In tech, things change fast in terms of consumer behavior, platforms, funding environments. I realized that success is about execution and being nimble enough to pivot when needed.
With WeClinic™, we built agility into our DNA. When COVID hit, our physical clinic shut down but we moved to digital consultations almost overnight.
Another learning was to focus on trust and retention. Now, we know that Healthcare is relationship-based. That’s why 75% of our patients return for follow-up care. We see it as deepening our impact.
WeClinic™️ has grown rapidly and now serves over 12,000 patients monthly. What strategies have been most effective in building trust and expanding your patient base across India?
Dr. Deeksha Katiyar: Trust is everything in healthcare. We focused on transparency from day one through clear communication, no false promises, and a genuine commitment to patient outcomes. We began capturing patient feedback in the form of video testimonials.
Today, we’ve uploaded over 5,000 such stories to our YouTube channel. These are real people sharing real results. That builds credibility in a way no marketing campaign can.
Another strategy was simplifying access. Whether it’s teleconsultation in Hindi or delivering medicines to remote towns, we’ve made care easy to reach. And we back it up with a 97% treatment success rate, which we continuously track and improve upon.
Are there any new services or technological advancements you plan to introduce to further enhance holistic healthcare delivery?
Alok Katiyar: Yes, we’re actively working on expanding our services in two directions. First, we’re launching specialized care units for conditions like allergic rhinitis and migraines, which are often underdiagnosed but deeply impact quality of life. Homeopathy can offer powerful solutions in these areas, and we want to bring that to the forefront.
Second, we’re improving our tech infrastructure to support multilingual teleconsultation and AI-based patient engagement tools. These will help us offer even more personalized care, while ensuring better adherence to long-term treatment plans.
We’re also investing in regional expansion, especially in underserved markets where traditional healthcare access is still limited.
What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs looking to innovate in the healthcare sector?
Alok: Start by identifying real gaps, not just trends. Healthcare is deeply personal as people are entrusting you with their well-being. So focus on building trust, not just traction. Be patient, build credibility, and don’t hesitate to get your hands dirty in the early days.
Also, don’t underestimate the power of simple tech solutions because sometimes it’s the small tweaks that create the biggest impact.
Dr. Deeksha: I would say—lead with empathy. Innovation in healthcare shouldn’t come at the cost of compassion. Make decisions that center around the patient, not just the product.
Also, never stop learning. The field is constantly evolving, and staying grounded in both science and service will set you apart. If you truly care about people, they will see it and they’ll stay with you.
Alok and Dr. Deeksha Katiyar’s insights reveal a commitment to advancing holistic healthcare at WeClinic™ Homeopathy.
Their dedication to integrating time-tested remedies with contemporary methods not only enhances patient care but also sets a benchmark for future healthcare innovations, fostering a healthier community in Kanpur and beyond.
