At the Urban Summit, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel promises faster approvals for real estate projects

Ahmedabad, March 13: The 16th GIHED Property Show, which culminated on Sunday evening, received an overwhelming response from real estate buyers and investors with more than 80000 people visiting over three days.

“We are overwhelmed by the response to the property show. Over 75000 people have paid a visit to the show. Developers have told us that they have received many bookings during the show.

We are also seeing a big rush for site visits since this morning. The property show has ably served
its purpose as a platform to help people buy their dream homes and offices,” said Tejas Joshi, President, CREDAI-Ahmedabad GIHED.

He also sought faster CGDCR, RERA, Revenue Dept., Environmental clearances for real estate projects.

“We do not want any incentives. We have requested Hon. Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel to set up a committee comprising senior government officials and developers to fast track various approvals and reduce the time for receiving the RERA approval in 3-4 months instead of the 10-12 months it takes at present. Faster clearances will increase the pace of development in Ahmedabad and other cities,” he added.

In his address, Shri Jaxay Shah, immediate past chairman of CREDAI, said real estate investment has emerged as a social security in the wake of the uncertainty ushered in by the Covid-19 pandemic.

In his address, Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, said, “I have taken note of your representations and we will do the needful to address them.

I also want to reduce the approval time to three months, but you need to tell us how it can be achieved. The demand for a price index in real estate is a valid one and we will represent it to the Centre if needed. I also urge developers to aim to improve the happiness index.”

Hon’ble Revenue Minister Shri Rajendrabhai Trivedi and Hon’ble Minister of state for Urban Development and Urban Housing Shri Vinodbhai Moradiya also spoke on the occasion.Hon’ble Health and family welfare Minister Shri Rushikeshbhai Patel visited the Property Show.

Guj RERA Chairman Mr. Amarjeet Singh, IAS, Principal Secretary Mr. Mukeshkumar IAS, Ahmedabad Muni. Commissioner Mr. Lochan Sehra IAS, Mr. D. P. Desai Saheb, IAS, CEA, AUDA etc also visited the event.
