Radio stations came into existence three decade later. During 1950s, radio and broadcasting system became a common commodity around the world.

The main reason of celebrating World Radio Day is to raise awareness among the public & media about the importance of radio.

History of Radio Day

Radio was discovered by Heinrich Hertz. Radio waves were operated at a frequency of 30 hertz and 300 gigahertz.

A device called a transmitter generates them. The transmitter is connected to the antennas.

It allows the radio waves to radiate. A radio receiver receives the waves & it is attached to another system of antennas.

How to celebrate Radio Day

The radio has many forms like, AM/FM, HAM, Shortwave, and many more. With all of these versions of radios, you may have one in your home, even if you do not have a standard AM/FM radio!

Actually, radio day is a great opportunity to remember all the days that we spent traveling with Walkman and enjoying the best and newest music broadcast from our local radio station.
